He seems like a good coach. Do you think he’s leaving?

That’s been the story for a few years. Truth is he has coached at three schools in 20+ years, and if Meigs had hired him in ‘11 it might only be two. It’d take a wheelbarrow full of money and a stick of dynamite to get him out of Decatur. He would also consider the Auburn job if it ever opened up.

Think any of next years freshman may see significant playing time with varsity?

It's definitely possible - not sure about significant, but I could see a few of them getting some snaps, especially on special teams. I think 2 of them have a chance to help us in the secondary next year as well. They all seem to be pretty good kids as well - very respectful.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
