Greenback 2020

If Greenback lost a bunch of starters off this years team and does not receive a bunch of senior transfers. Then they will be a decent team but not state title contenders. Of course I'm pretty sure the transfers will come for the education. I do know Greenback needs to stay away from Region 7A teams. 0 and 2 and neither game was that competitive.

So much harder for a smaller school like Greenback to reload than a bigger school unless the one up the road stocks the pond again. The QB and the 2 WR's are really going to be to hard for any school to replace no matter who the school is. The school up the road seems to have so much internal problems they turn a blind eye to which causes the families of these kids to try and escape and at least salvage some good experience for their kids. They spend more time there worrying about Shadroach instead of the real problem, Shad and look like a pack of fools by doing so.

A couple of the ones that escaped and made it to freedom keep a beacon of hope alive  for those still guarded behind the barb wire.

If Loudon County allowed Blount County Kids into their school that has a Greenback address which a lot of places in Blount County do it would bring William Blount Football down so bad they would be worse than Heritage and that's bad. It's very hard to believe how two schools could be that bad in football but it starts at the top and always has. It starts with the man that loves to get his picture in the paper all the time. That's where the Buck Stops.

London Co is open zone. At least according to their board policies they are. So apparently they do let them in. They just have to follow tssaa rules regarding transfers like everyone else and so far no one has provided evidence that they don’t.

I think what Barn is referring to is that Loudon county has a rule that you must live in Loudon county to go to GB or another Loudon County HS. If that rule wasn't in place GB would get at least 10 more football players a year, which would equal about 40 extra players on a single A team. It has been suggested that folks from Loudon HS and LC HS want to make sure that rule stays in place our GB will own them.

    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
