Pearl-Cohn vs East Nashville

It’s why coaches have to understand goals : Is it a district championship, region championship or state championship. Don’t follow other classes but In AA you better know how to play fast or you will lose most of the time . District 10AA might be one of the toughest AA districts in the state . Down this year but East and pearl pretty darn elite . This could be Pearls year . East back court freshman and sophomore will be here for awhile not ready to win it all yet . These days only way to beat them is play their style all year long . Most people won’t agree or have enough athletes to do it . You can’t slow it dish because they will just end up getting steals on you . Best bet is run shoot 3’s and press them back even though East hard to press with those two guards .

Totally disagree. Community did a great job of slowing it down in first half but tried to play too fast in 3rd and it killed them. Great year for Community and nothing to be ashamed of.

That's 23-3 run was all East needed to see. Just looking at the clips It looked like East was the same size as community maybe minus guards and that's because of age. Still a good game. Good luck next year ecu

Community had an 11 point lead I the 3rd quarter - and lost by 12. Wow!

East has another level of press and pressure. I agree, you must play fast throughout the year. The game will be sped up at some point, even if you control tempo for most the game. You have to be prepared to survive or compete when the game does SPEED UP if you want to compete with the elite teams.  Great year for community, but sounds like they just weren’t ready, or couldn’t survive once the game was sped up.

really hoping southside, Wooddale, and pearl aren’t on same side. That would be a shame.

Looks like they did. Community just had not seen the difference in the  level of basketball. They were good in their little world. Step out and get run over.

Right I knew both EN & PC was moving on. I seen community schedule & was naw they ain’t played nobody

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
