I got tickets and will have 7 packed in the Tahoe headed to Oak Ridge tomorrow.

I know DB got 500 tickets, not sure if more than that or not. Those are all sold.

Both senior tailbacks are playing. Be on the lookout for lightning quick Soph Gillespie to be making some plays for the Indians. He is as good a football player as he is basketball. its like trying to catch smoke to tackle him. 1 slight injury from last week, but that WR is starting, so DB is healthy and full strength for the Wildcats.

DB Defense held 8 teams last year to 14 or fewer pts with 3 shutouts and Alcoa only scored 21. This defense is better.

MY PICK - DB 28 OR 13

Game will definitely be closer this year than last.  I'll say it's a one score game either way, but my heart and head says the Tribe takes it, I'll say D-B 28, Wildcats 20.

Any chance Laura affects this game Friday night?  Will I need to bring the ponchos?  Lol.

Thunderstorms expected starting at 7PM - 3AM. darn near 70+% chance of thunder/lightening. Unless this storm shifts out to the coast, it's going to be a long delayed or possibly postponed game.

The ACs from both schools need to contact Elite. He knows how to coach up the weather. He can make it playable weather.

But with this weather coming in, will we have a game???????

Highly doubt there will be a game tonight. Expecting power outages, wind gusts, thunder/lightening, heavy rain etc. My guess is Dobyns Bennett doesnt even make it on the bus.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
