I actually think Loretto is the better team. Without 5 turnovers, they dont beat Summertown. Even with 3, they still trailed. Without the 4th they lose. I think Loretto wins that game.

You may be right. Here’s my thoughts across the board. Coaching- 100% EV. Offensive line- even. RB- Loretto. QB - EV. WR- slightly Loretto. Defensive line- EV. Sec - Loretto. LB- 44 for EV is the best I’ve seen this year. Most physical- EV. Discipline- EV. I believe this will be a low scoring game. Like the ST game, it will probably be determined by who protects the ball the best.

With 2 games left much has been decided and much will be determined the last game of regular season. All teams are out of the region and should all be favored to be triumphant (with the exception of Community of course).

*(6-2 4-0) Forrest host Cascade before the regional championship game at Lewis Co. Forrest has made a season out of winning ugly with a stingy defense and that continued last Friday night as they shutout a bad Community team 33-0. Excluding that game Forrest has managed to win by less than a 2 TD margin or an average of 8.5 points. Defense wins games and that is what will happen this Friday against Cascade.

*(3-5 0-4) ST host inter-county rival Lawrence Co. Once ranked in the top ten in the state ST has surprisingly played and forfeited themselves out of the playoffs. Last weeks 14-18 defeat at the hands of EV seal their fate. Look for the losing streak to continue with Lawrence Co before ending on a high note the last game of the season against everybody’s cheer-me-up game with Community.

*(3-5 2-2) Eagleville host Mt. Pleasant in a potential momentum building game before traveling to Loretto for the chance to finish 3rd in the region. It’s hard to believe that EV coaching staff will sleep on this game like Loretto’s did and loss to team that just got beat by a very under par Zion team.

*(4-4 2-2) Loretto travels to a reeling Hickman Co team who is riding a 6-game losing streak. This is not a gimme game for Loretto, remember that the only win that MP has is against this same Loretto team. If they are looking ahead to the EV game this could be a Saturday headscratcher. Loretto needs this victory to get back on track after the thumping they took at home against LC.

*(8-0 5-0) LC hosts Camden before next week’s showdown with Forrest. Camden is way down and shouldn’t challenge the Panthers. LC is playing the best defense they have played in many years and that should continue the next 2 weeks.

This may be an early question, but how do the playoffs shape up this year with the Memphis teams not playing? Will TSSAA allow more teams per region to make the playoffs?

The 4 region 7 teams will get a 1st round bye and match up with each other in the 2nd round

Unlike last year when the region was still wide open going into the final game of the season Region 5-2A Playoff Seeding is simple this year. How does Region 6's Covid wins factor into their seeding? Waverly is 1st with a win against RHS but 3rd with a loss?

1st: Lewis Co/ Forrest winner

2nd: Lewis Co/ Forrest loser

3rd: Eagleville/ Loretto winner

4th: Eagleville/ Loretto loser
