Objectively, I do not trust Cal Preps. Massey Ratings Matchup Tool has proven to be the more accurate tool over the years, but I don't have complete faith in it this year either.

I have found that Cal Preps suffers from recency bias. It says that 2020 SP is as good as, or better than every SP team from the last decade, including 2010.

I have seen them play. They are good, but not better than 2010, 2011, or 2013 SP.

Same thing for Copper Basin. It says 2020 CB is better than both quarterfinal teams of the 2010s.

Again, I have seen them play. They are not better than 2010 CB, 2012 CB or 2014 CB.

I haven’t seen our team live yet so I can’t compare our 2020 team to our past teams. However, you said the 2020 Copper Basin team isn’t as good as the 2014 team? Look, I know you beat us that year but both of our teams were pretty bad. I hope Copper Basin is better than their 2014 team.

I think Basin and SP are both better this year than they were in 2014. Both teams went 6-6 that year. This Basin team is a good team right now. They may fall apart and not win another game, but as of right now they look good.

I'm very happy for you all it's nice to have a successful team to talk about. It's nice to read about other teams on here having successful seasons I know we're down right now but will be back soon. Hearing about you all and Gordonsville ,Monterey and Clay starting to play better it's fun to read about.

Maybe a push with 2010 but they ate better than 2011 and 13 teams.

I'm as objective as they come and your offensive line is nowhere near good enough to be in that conversation. My point stands.

The point is the overall trend of CalP to favor current teams over former. It isn't a discussion over whether or not 2020 SP/CB is as good or not as good as previous teams, it's the tendency of CalP to take teams that have played 4 games and give them a power rating higher than teams that played 12-15.

South Pitt is absolutely, but we're in no position at CB to say a team that has played 4 football games is even better than last year. Remember, we were 6-1 at Week 7. Our schedule truly begins now. After we see what happens, we can have that discussion.

This GW bunch will no doubt be the best football team Copper Basin has seen this year by far, from what I’ve seen. But also from what I’ve seen on them, basin will be the best team they’ve seen all year as well. Neither team has played a lot of good competition til this point (even though I’ll give GFC their dues, they played us very well). I don’t think GW is of the same level as SP however. I haven’t seen the pirates yet this year but if they are their usual selves or better then GW isn’t of the same caliber. But, they are a good football team so this will be a great opportunity to see where our cougars are. Go Big Red!

They better be.. I haven’t seen SP live this year, but I guarantee they are better than our 2014 team. We were really bad that season.
