Milan vs Covington Region 7-3A showdown

So want to ask Covington posters your thoughts on this. I have been told that Covington dresses in the low 40’s and Milan is in the mid 60’s. Will that make any difference in this game?  The number dressing for Milan does not include freshman and there are 20 seniors. This is a mature Bulldawg team.

That is incorrect. Covington dresses between 50-60, however, that does include freshman. We only have 40 players sophomore-senior. We have 13 seniors, which is about on par for us these days. It could make a difference, however you can only put 11 men on the field and Covington is VERY well conditioned. I don't see this being an issue or a contributing part to who wins this game. Just my opinion. I honestly believe it will come down to turnovers, penalties, and execution of game plan. All else seems to be pretty equal.

I apparently was given some bad information or maybe they were talking about minus freshmen.

Great summary. Covington's weight lifting and conditioning program has been a big advantage for us for years now. I'm not sure how much that has been affected by Covid, but I think we will be fine.

That is almost for certain. Unless an act of God happens these two will meet again in the qtr finals to see who hosts Pearl Cohn.

Suppose this:

If Covington beats Milan, then later SGC beats Covington, and if Milan, Covington,, and SGC win all their remaining games in the region, you would have a 3-way tie with those three having lost one Region game each. In that case Milan beat SGC, Covington beat Milan, then SGC beat Covington. What's the tie-breaker? I'm sure it's written down somewhere, I'm just too lazy to look it up.

If what you describes happens best overall record would determine the 1 seed. Then the heads up winner between the remaining two would determine the 2 and 3 seeds.

Thanks. That "best overall record" may be hard to determine in this Covid pandemic, with teams not playing the same number of games. Covington, e.g., will not be playing Sheffield since Shelby County is not playing. That gives us a 9-game season, unless we decide to pick up a replacement game.

I'm not to certain about PC, yet. They had their hands full will Hillsboro last week and pulled it out in OT. East Nasty may be the team to beat. We will find out Friday night when those two match up.
