South Pittsburg @ Meigs County (Captain Victory vs Tiger King Fitz)

The Pirates travel to Tiger country in a showdown of two undefeated heavyweights. Heavyweights?  Yeah,  heavyweights. 

The Pirates of South Pittsburg are ranked #1 in Class 1A in the latest AP poll while Meigs County is currently ranked #2 in Class 2A in the AP.  But more importantly the Tigers are once again ranked #1 in the SouthTown poll. 

Meigs graduated last years Superman Swafford but look to have a more rounded and balanced team this time around.

While the Pirates graduated several across the offensive and defensive lines they still come in with skill guys galore.  

Pirates are led by legendary Captain Victory and some say it may be his last hurrah at the helm but who really knows.

Meigs County is led by the King himself.  Tiger King Fitz who led his squad to the 2A title game just last year.

Who will come out on top in this one?  How do you see this one playing out?  Who has the advantages?  The Orange and Black Pirates or the Orange and Black Tigers?

I've seen 2 games of film on the tigers. They are in same boat as SP as neither has been tested yet. Hard to get a read. Maybe we can make a showing.

Just be sure to tell your mom the truth this year Southtowner. Last year you forgot to tell her the Tigers were the good guys.

Ready to see how we play after not being on the field in so long. Ready to see how we react to being tested for the first time. Ready to see if our line can step up to the challenge. READY TO FINALLY SEE THE PIRATES BACK IN ACTION. 

We haven't been close to being tested so it will be interesting to see what we do when someone punches back. 

Will the long layoff hurt, or will it really matter? One thing, we should be pretty good on the injury front. And, since the coaches haven't had to prepare for anyone, that means they've basically had 3 weeks to get ready for this one. I doubt they've spent three weeks practicing for Meigs, but they've had plenty of time to game plan.

That my friend is the question ive wondered myself! 

 I'm sure the coaches have thought about this as well and have the game plan in place to come out with a W! Just a little on edge with a game like this after a long 2 week lay off!

Didnt seem to affect you all last year when Redbank game was cancelled due to weather.

That's the best part about games like this. Going in not sure if your team will win or not. At least that's what I like about it. I rewatched our game of last year and It really was a good game with yall coming out on top. Hope its competitive like it was last year. There were some massive hits in that game I had forgotten about. I thought about posting some highlights of last years game, but I'm not sure how the coaches would feel about it. You never know.

Excited about the opportunity to finally watch the Pirates play a game. There isn’t any ticket drama with this one is there? I went up the road to the Marion and Bledsoe game last night.

Last I was told we were selling tickets till this past Friday. Meigs sent you 300 tickets I believe according to a post I had read by Southtowner.
