Cartman, would you rather go to region 6 or 8 for football?

I guess 6 since they'd actually bring a couple dozen fans to our home games. Wouldn't even get that playing in R8. I don't see us changing regions though. If by some reason we do McKenzie is likely coming too. Y'all are just as far west as we are just a little north.

I have a strong feeling they are going to shift both of us.

So lets be honest the formula is very simple to compete year in year out(3rd round or higher CONSISTENTLY).

1. Community has ATHLETES or recruits them (we all know it happens).

2.Community supports football. (positively pressures their kids to play, has high expectations and pays quality coaches.)

3.School supports football.  HIRES multiple QUALITY coaches and PAYS them better than surrounding schools so they stay and build a PROGRAM.

The stronger the three of the above are the better the program.

THIS!!!!

Assuming Peabody goes 1A, I don't see the state having a 10 team region in 1A when everyone else has at most 6 teams. The 10 team region would be West Carroll, Peabody, McKenzie, Halls, Greenfield, Lake Co, Gleason, Humboldt, South Fulton and Dresden.

Based on watching them on TV in the finals last year, i would have to agree.

It's just my humble opinion. Peabody's Offensive line is ridiculous. They have some good skill position players as well, not to the quality of last year (again my opinion) but they're more than serviceable and get the job done and more. Peabody is in a great position for this year and beyond. They'll be the favorites next year regardless of what class they're in.

Probably the best oline or one of the best olines Peabody has ever had. The skill players just lack some experience

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
