GeneralForrest
based on schedule and two BS losses due to Covid I'd say Waverly is the better team

I definitely think our defense is better than Forrest. For Waverly Houston has to punish the tacklers trying to tackle him. He is to big and to strong to be trying to hurdle or juke a tackler. Dooley needs to read that option a little more and he would be deadly has a runner. The only thing I would like to see is do a little better on defense is I would like to see our Dbacks turn to make a play on the ball. That’s my only complaint. I see what you’re saying but Waverlys D backs have forced 5 turnovers in the last 3 games. D dense has done their jobs. I think picking up pre reads and adjusting quicker is the main issue on offense. Other than that Waverly seems pretty well balanced.

GeneralForrest
Forrest will run first. They always do. If Waverly shuts that down it will be a long night for the Rockets. The run game for Forrest has been much better the last 2 weeks, including against Lewis Co.

Some "quick as a cat" kids who just ran all over the place. Maybe @Salemcan weigh in. That said, we are ok on defense. I don't put us in the elite category by any stretch. That's why I cannot get a feel for this. Hill, Wilson, Follis and Kirby are very good. Hill is elite and has been for 3 years. Forrest offense has been jekyll/hyde also. Last two weeks, Lewis Co, all kinds of yards, Red Zone impotence. EH? They couldn't stop us. Forrest shows up for big games.. This will be a tight ballgame.. Just a gut feeling Forrest will do just enough to win..

I can see a case for both teams being capable of pulling out the W.. You are right about the Dbacks though.. I have seen more plays of Dbacks running blindly down the field and the ball hitting them in the back.. not picking on Waverly with that comment, I'm talking across the state..

Would be crazy because I think 2017 and 2018 teams would stomp this one. @Salem can weigh in.

Both teams are way down from 2017-18 levels but they have a shot at making the semis. This year's Moore County score wasn't representative of a talent gap. Our QB had more turnovers in that game than he's had total in two years of starts. MC strength on defense is the secondary and then linebackers. The D line is their weakness so of course we attacked their strength. Our defense is solid but have given up too many deep passing plays - #6 will kill us if he's not game planned for. We still have guys out there, IMO, who are weak links but they keep going out there and not a lot of opposing coaches have taken advantage of it. Hill is one of the top if not top linebackers in 2A. 7 hours ago, GeneralForrest said: I promise you I am not playing down a team who: Blew a 14-0 lead at 2-8 4A Portland Was not competitive against 1A Moore Co Was only up 5-0 at half against "Worst team in 1A/2A" Community Lost to mediocre-at-best Cascade at home. Forrest is 6-4. We have a 6-2 record in games where we had a talent advantage. We are 0-2 in games where the talent level was relatively equal. This week will be another contest between equal teams. Tata
Looking at the schedules, don't you think that Forest is better than Gibson Co.? Or even 20 points better than Hickman County? This may be an upset in the making.
Sidelinehustler
Forrest wins this one IMO. Waverly’s best win is over a Riverside team that lost to Lewis County.
