I’m gonna be honest. This is South Pittsburg’s year. Other teams have had their years. No one was gonna beat that Lake County team last season, no one was gonna beat whitwell the year before, and no one was gonna beat UC in 2013, amongst other teams who have had their years. This season is the perfect storm and knowing the seniors and the team in general, they are going for the throat, ready to kill. The fire in their eyes on every play is downright scary. Coalfield found out last night what a team on a mission could do. SP wins big 49-7.

Don’t think anyone was going to beat 2015 NCS either lol

That team was great as well. Was it Dresden in 2016 that won 1A? That team wasn’t gonna be beat either. 2010 SP as well. They got beat by Polk 42-7 in the regular season, carried that anger to the championship and won 41-7. Several teams lately that weren’t gonna be beat and I think this years SP team is another one.

I’m not a city fan but I will disagree. FC is a different animal that what you saw. Missing players and the ones they picked up late in year make them a different team. With those ejected in our game we almost came back on them and we was just average this year. I think SP will win because they are a very good team this year but I believe FC will be the best team they have played in playoffs also.

You may be right, but they were only 11 points better against Huntland with the newly eligible players than they were earlier in the season.

All we can do is guess until they actually play the game. However, I made a similar prediction about Coalfield, that they weren't as good as Gville, Monterey,  and Clay, and many disagreed until they played the game. Fayetteville is quite a bit better than Coalfield.

SP is the #1 team in the state, and the gap is wide to the #2 team, whether it's either City or Gville. In this case, City will go down as the #2 team. But the wide gap will be there, and it will be obvious, but they still have to play the game, and they may prove many of us wrong or prove us right.

LRDAO... Where in tarnation is Pegleg?

I’m here watching for PowerP to start his usual antics. To see if we need to remove his computer privileges or if we need to take him for another ride without a seat belt, but you have to admit, Roy,  he did find us a kicker.

LRDAO.... He said you barrel rolled him on that plane after he did that mess.  I was on guard at that Clemons man field waiting on you and powerp to try and steal my Murphy Fair book again.  You think im joking but im not.

That wasn’t me, that was PowerP. He likes looking at Murphy’s poll.

This will be a good game - I don't think SP has seen a 1,000 yard passer this year (not quite a grand, but 977), and City has a couple of boys who can go up and get it. City can also run it - which accounts for 2/3 of their total offense.

On the other side - City has not seen this kind of speed nor have they seen a DL like the Pirates. In the end I don't see how City keeps up through 4 quarters. Pirates pull away in the 4th.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
