I was thinking he was battling an injury.  Just couldn't remember  if he played the whole game or not.

He went out very early in the first game against Fayetteville.   In our game you could tell he was favoring his shoulder. Even in warmups.

Now in the playoff game vs Fayetteville I don't know what his health status was but had only heard he played the game.

I just think that region opponents know each other fairly well and therefore prepartion is easier sometimes and can lead to closer than expected outcomes.

I agree.  Most times you can't compare scores.  Teams match up differently.  I think Fayetteville will spread the field on us and it may take us some time to adjust.  We haven't played a team similar to Fayetteville this season.  Wish that redbank game would have been played.

Exactly what I think. Their athletes in the spread will take some time for us to get use to on the defensive side. This is no cakewalk. Our defense is very capable though.

I will say this about Fayetteville. They remind me a lot of SP. From everything from their team makeup, skill sets, and uniform colors.

They have the potential to be a force in the West for years to come. They are on the line of 1A/2A, but there usually isn't much difference in the top teams in each class.

Lincoln County is a larger pool to pull from than Marion County. However, I believe there is more to pull from from outside of Marion than there is outside of Lincoln.

This year, the talent gap is wide, but City is one of the top up and coming teams. I believe they'll be really good for a while.

PMike, what happened to Beerman?  I don't think I've seen anything of his in a while, but tbh, don't really read ya'lls 80-100 page threads either.  Met him, his wife, and little=Beerboy years ago before one of our games.

He’s still at every game.  If he’s posting which I think he is, it’s under a different name.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
