USJ I have had a lot of respect for throughout the years. From what I was told from Peabody alumni they got beat and the effort was weak in some areas. I taught one in my household to out prepare and work hard and to always be humble because you can get beat any game. Sounds like Peabody needs to quit making excuses about recruiting and admit they got humbled a bit which is needed from time to time. Congratulations to USJ. Peabody coaches will figure it out that teams are not going to lay down for them.

Ok good point.  But did you know USJ put 8 in the box all night and we only had 5.  I commend our coaches for sticking to their game plan, no matter the outcome. It was an humbling experience for our kids and that was part of the plan.  With that said, our coaches had the sink or swim attitude.  We sank.  But when was the last time a fumble in the end zone before crossing not called a touchback. Just saying. Good luck to both teams.

Our kids and coaches are not making excuses, just fans.  But that's what we do right?

It is almost badge of honor for some public (especially Medina) parents to tell others they got recruited by a private school.  What would be a good thread would be how great  USJ would be if they had not lost some kids for various reasons.  Imagine us with Anthony Brown and others.

Why would I leave out the first half??? You are concerned what JV players we have? You are the one implying that we had all”these new guys”.

It was a just a scrimmage.  Relax

what I would be concerned about is how you lost to Fayette Academy in 7 on 7 and not winning a game.

That's a bunch of crap.  Did you even see the 7 on 7 game.  It was our jv dude.  Our varsity did not take a snap.  Last time I looked we ha 4 gold balls in the last 7 years.  No concerns man.  We are okay over here. This may be the only year USJ  Could even compete with Peabody.  Enjoy your year dude.  It's going to be special. No. Davidson county to worry about.  And if Peabody does not win the gold, recent memory says we are in a very small class of 3 peat winners.  I promise you we are okay.

Peabody's London Burkett (3) catches the ball during a 7-on-7 game against USJ on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Jackson, Tenn.

JV??

I think I he was talking about against Fayette ware. I was there I don’t think we lost. Someone said they didn’t want to keep the kids out late because of practice the next day. Peabody just left. does winning a 7v7 count for anything ?

    • Yeah, we came up short. I remember we threw a ball over the middle to #5 Guymon? and he came up short of the sticks. Gave em he&& for a bit though.
    • Doe dee doe doe…..hmmmmmmm one of those players can run faster than my lawnmower when I put it in 5th gear turbo.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
