1974. Dyersburg had a defensive lineman named Jimmy Noonan.  Noonan went on to play at Tennessee.

Another team Maryville never beat was Humboldt.  Humboldt beat Maryville in 1979 State Title Game.

I agree these extra kids put them over the top, but it's due to them winning so much, kids want those rings and to be remembered, So even if it's a kid that doesn't start or play at all, when he has children or when he is asked, he can proudly say he won 2,3,4? championships.  I understand it puts them on a unfair playing field, but it is not their fault and unfortunately TSSAA can do nothing about it.

It was a regular season game.  I am guessing on the score.  It was like 21 7 I think.  Barney would know.  He was on that Maryville team.

There are a few of these one and done type series where teams have beaten my boys from Marevul, but in series with a 10 game minimum, Marevul leads EVERY series that they have played against the opposition since 1926.
