If I may play Devil’s Advocate and flip the question, what does Maryville get out of playing Heritage? Nothing against Maryville (I’ve likely already made one of your posters boiling mad in another thread), but it seems they would get more out of just having a inter-squad scrimmage.

Never have looked into it. I'm honestly not sure if Heritage could win in 2A. I don't like to miss a Maryville game especially when it's almost walking distance from my house but this is just horrible. Making sure to bring a full charged phone and a I-pad to watch two much better games and enjoy the view. There was a time believe it or not I hated Heritage with a passion because all they talked about was how this great big consolidated four county school was going to end Maryville's football power grip they have. That was 1977 and really after the 88 season which really was the last good team they produced then the program went under only to come up for air maybe 2 or 3 times until the year 2000 and hasn't been seen since. I used to wish them the worse because they couldn't handle winning with class and acted like something wild that got let out of a cage if they won a game especially Maryville. Now I've learned not to wish bad things on people because it might come true.
