Their strength is probably the line but their inexperienced there even. From reports sounds like Greeneville has a very good line on both sides of the ball so it will do DB good to play against those guys. If nothing else it will show them that they have work to do. This should be a tough game. However it won’t be. Greeneville is the real deal this year. Their line is dominant and they have athletes all over the field. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see a running clock. Heavy doses of 2,3, and 7 is hard to stop. As painful as it is, the gold ball will end up in Greeneville this year barring any major injury or natural disaster.
JustAnotherFootballFan
I don't disagree that Greeneville has athletes all over the field, but can someone explain in layman's terms why the game will be a running clock. I'm not saying DB is filled with all-star talent, but they seem to have a lot of potential. My dad told me when I was just a lad that potential will get you fired, but I believe in our coaches to get us prepared to fight the good fight. I'm just a DB faithful trying to understand why others don't think we have a chance.
EHSTrack06
My guess is bc DB hasn't really played any teams that have challenged them. It's easy to look good against teams who were 4-9 going into the WR game. I think DB got a wake up call and honestly WR could have won that game and DB knows it. That being said seeing DB vs WR and then seeing WR vs Greeneville even though it was a scrimmage there really isn't much of an argument against a big win by the Devils. DB has talent but not as much as DB and the WR game imo exposed DB for the team they really are. Decent but not as good as the record would indicate

Well as WaCoJaCo would say DB hasn't been able to cover the pass in over 20 years and Greeneville has arguable the best WR core they have had ever in all around athletes and Speed. DB hasn't seen a team with this type of Speed all year and when a team jumps on you quickly it can break your will. It's a pick your poison this year with Greeneville on Offense with Gudger, Gillespie, Stevenson, Dabbs, and Laws to go along with an athletic and big Oline. On D Greeneville is the same and just as Athletic and will fly to the ball and hit you with gang tackling. Greeneville also has only given up 3 points in the first quarter all year and 9 points in the first half all year in their 5 games so far. BatmanDevil
You never know what's going to happen when a bunch of 14 to 18 year olds have a game plan to execute . I understand the simple question as to why would there be a running clock in this game because you have two teams that are undefeated coming in with good coaches and good players. The best answer to that would be that this year Greeneville has speed and a lot of it. That doesn't mean every pass will be caught or on target .Also, that DB won't draw up the perfect game plan.I personally hope it's a tough game that the Devils have to use every weapon to get a well deserved win. That would go a long way to keeping the Devils humble while still building confidence.
DBKPT93
So from what it sounds like let’s just name the score for Greeneville and not worry about playing. We obviously don’t stand a chance. Greeneville 6-0 DB 5-1 now. I guess we can start preparing for Jeff County then.

There will be a running clock because Greeneville will have a lead by at least 35 points at the start of the second half. Do I know that for sure, No, but all things considered that's where this is headed. I could explain in detail but everybody already knows. I understand the deal where you're supposed to display confidence and all that. But it always comes down to whats real. Last years DB team and this years Greeneville team would of been a great game, but that's also fantasy. DB just doesn't have the horses to beat Greeneville this year. It will be over at half time. blazer1set
The JC Press is not throwing the towel in on the Tribe just yet.... D-B is playing a Class 4A team, but forget that for a moment. The Greene Devils are arguably better than nearly all Class 6A teams — outside of the cream of the crop, like Oakland, Maryville or Riverdale. A win over Greeneville would vault the Indians into the top-four conversation, although it wouldn’t change where Maryville stands. https://www.johnsoncitypress.com/sports/just-how-impressive-has-crockett-been-under-hayden-chandley/article_004e00d2-1a3b-11ec-8901-c7ca74a0af6d.html
