DCA seems like they got it going.

I think until CPA abandons the "homegrown" theme (still unclear on the beef with recruiting legally), they will have some tough sledding.  it's also hard to win with kids playing 2 ways against teams that don't do that.   I pick LA as well.

would be interesting to see mccallie get pushed off the top of the heap!

Agree with you on the homegrown thing.  You don't hear the D2AAA complaining about McCallie or Baylor!

Fun fact:  in the past 2 years, McCallie's only lost was to Ryan (last year) and beat Ryan by a TD twice this year.

Baylor is looking for a new coach.  With the resources they have, they should be in the mix....but then again, so should both Webb schools.  Recruiting and boarding schools are a mix for success in my opinion.

The CPA people can speak for themselves on that "homegrown" subject, but as a parent who went through the private school application process for 2 kids, I can report that for my youngest a couple of years ago (looking to enter 7th) the school was full and accepting only siblings.  Could be wrong also but CPA doesn't seem to lose a lot of kids along the way.  I can't remember kids leaving CPA for MBA, BA, or Ensworth.  So the "homegrown" thing may be more a function of the school being full with limited options for adding new kids.  You could say that ought to inspire them to raise money and build more buildings to hold more students, and maybe they will.  That said Ingle's comments about financial aid are just out to lunch and honestly just offensive.

I will never pick against McCallie ever.  They remind me of Maryville during the Quarles years.  They have almost no D1 prospects on the team (one defensive back going to Duke?).  They don't wow you at all getting off the bus, but they are just dominant.  I can't explain it.  MBA faced (at least by recruiting rankings) much better QB-WR combos than the McCallie duo--I don't think either of those guys is playing at the next level at all.  And they just torched our really good defense.

You’re probably right about CPA…..the problem I have is the arrogance.  Just rubs me the wrong way when they tout “homegrown” as something to be proud of and because of that they are morally superior to the other privates….. don’t hear that from the folks on this board, just social media in general.

McCallie has some good receivers...one of which is going to Duke, but they have more.  They do have one kid that will make your jaw drop when you see him....6'4 and 400lbs.  That is his listed weight so I'm guessing he is more.  Doesn't move too bad for a guy that big!
