I feel like Clay and ER may be better than Hampton. I also feel like when the region tournament comes the size of Jo Byrns may give Gordonsville or Pickett co Fits.

I wouldn't count knowledge academies out. they beat er by 7 and jo Byrns by 22. I think they might be a sleeper team to maybe make it to state.

Buckles gets 36 in win over Unaka,

Univ High sort of upsets North Greene,

Hampton -Univ High Tuesday for district title.

University high has played a tough schedule to date and looks like it paid off tonight. You are right sort of an upset is perfect wording. I’m curious to see if they can slow down Buckles on Tuesday.

Be tough but if Jordan #10 for UH can blanket Buckles like he did Britton they have  a partial chance. The other part will be trying to match up with Hamptons big man. Last game was close and had a barrage of fouls 10 to 3 right at the end. No excuse just a fact with both teams driving to the hoop. Hopefully a good game. Defense won UH the game against NG. Many players stepped up.

Good insight, I haven’t seen Hampton play since last year in the Boro. They looked tough in both games their coach does a really good job with matchups I thought. I expect them to be back in the glass house come March,  who knows though maybe UH can pull the second upset of the district and get them into the drivers seat.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
