I know you are.But Coach Lanier told me last year to come look at this young kid.Said because of his age and size, think if will have  be a potential division 1 prospect.Thought he told me this kid was in 5th or 6 grade.I thought he was on the field with my grandson who was in 3rd grade.Kid I'm talking about wouldn't be in high school. It wasn't the middle school team I was watching but younger kids.Coach Lanier was coaching this team.He didn't coach middle school last year.

I don't know anything about him. He is not in middle school yet apparently. We do have a really good back down their.

Do you know if Greenback had their full squad at McMinn Central 5 way scrimmage?  I was shocked on how down I thought they were.

I was not at that scrimmage, unfortunately. I probably won't get to actually see much on Greenback until either the Coalfield or Oakdale games. I know they were really young last year and are by the looks of things better in terms of what's coming back but the jury is still out on their current coach and whether he can get Greenback to the prominence they have had most of the previous 35 years.

Yes I saw  the back you referring about.Coach Lanier just called me.The young man man I was talking about was in the backfield last year on pee wee team, named Arcadia or something like that.Coach Lanier said he has him on the offensive line and at linebacker.Said he'd weigh about 200 to 220 lbs and is a 6th grader this year.Anyway, that the young man I was referring to thst was in the backfield as a 5th grader. No big deal but just I remembered a big kid I thought was a 5th grader.

McKenzie defeats 6A McCracken Co, Ky 17 to 0.

Y’all did put a whopping on them, very dominate, & helped wear them down for Dresden who played same team in the next game, where Lions won 21-0. Thank you Rebels! Our two wee lil 1A-Reg.6 TN teams did a number on that great big 6A school from KY. HOOYAY!

From what I watched, Dresden didnt need us or anyone else to wear them down. Very impressed.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
