Summertown got tough play day this weekend - renewing what has proved to be most competitive games in state over last several years w Loretto / lot of new faces on both squads but rivalry will still make even play day entertaining

And how did it go....What are the first looks at Loretto? How did they stack up to S'Town?

Harpeth won the Belmont team camp tourney. I wouldn't say it was a stacked camp by any means, but definite improvement the last couple weeks and beat multiple AA & AAA teams along the way to take the banner. The kids were excited, as they should have been. I can't believe its two weeks until practice is over and the real games start!

Hard to tell bout Loretto they had couple girls out but they have all the ingredients to be good ( size and athleticism ) know more later on them -Summertown played well nothing to write home about ( serve and D great - offense little below Summertown standards ) like I said before no dominant teams I’ve seen as of now

South Greene will be back to the tournament.

It will be hard to replace two-time All staters, Sydney Gentry and Addison Williams, but by tournament time, the team will be ready to defend its title. Players to watch will be last year's tournament MVP, senior Jordyn Roderick and senior Macey Snapp, both of whom were all-state last year.

Snapp, at Libero, is the type of player everyone would like on their team. She is pure hustle and never gives up on a ball.

The team has only three seniors, but don't underestimate South Greene. Coach Stephen Gregg knows his players and puts them in a position to win, as evidenced by their tournament play last year.

I'm sure they will be...they are always there, and I'm sure will be ready to defend...Wish we could mix it up before state gets here and have more of these teams meet before M'Boro!

South Greene, at home on Rebel Hill, beat a very good Morristown West team 3-0. Two evenly matched, good-sized teams. 

Morristown was up 24-18 in the second set and 24-23 in the third. The Lady Rebels hung tough.

Harpeth drops a heartbreaker to Fairview 1-3. Fairview is improved on the back row. Really good Libero and a stout service game.

Summertown beats a high octane Eagleville team on their home court - both teams laid it on the line but Summertown up 3-2

Harpeth eeks past a much improved Waverly team 3-2 tonight in a Region 5-A matchup.

State participant Eagleville loses both of their first two matches in 5. Tough start to the season for them, but tough competition also. They should get in the win column tonight vs. Fayetteville.

Eagleville never let’s anything hit the floor that’s what makes them tough out - Summertown got task this weekend in Murfreesboro against some high level teams from around the state - we shall see if can hold up
