Do they take any that are not playing football?  Or does it matter?

i think when classifying by enrollment, they only take the schools that participate in the sport. which is why there are currently more classifications for football than baseball, soccer, or girls' soccer.

i think.

that might make too much sense, though.

Yeah I seen them, but top to bottom that region doesn’t look as intimidating as some others could be with the exception of East Nashville.

I thank yall could have beat them the last several years but they are real strong now. I thank they will keep it close with alcoa this year.

Don't forget the video that was sent out a few weeks ago. The new method that they are considering is no team playing more than double their enrollment. If that is the case the highest enrollment is 2,827 so the cut offs would be

6A -2,827-1,416

5A -1,415-1,062

4A - 1,061-708

3A - 707-531

2A - 530-354

1A - 0-353

6A and 1A would be the same for all sports 4A and 5A combined and 2A and 3A combined from the other sports.

Rockwood, Cosby, Eagleville, Richland could end up in 1a.  If UC and Peabody switch places could swap places. Overall, that would strengthen 1a.

However, if the cut is at 353, UC, McKenzie, Richland would all be in 2a. Gordy and Harriman would also be in 2a.  It seems Fayetteville may be moving up either way.  This scenario decimates 1a.

    • You didn't spell Greeneville and Elizabethton correctly in your sentence.  4A has the best teams in Upper East TN.  Carter County All-Stars and Greene County All-Stars is the Superbowl now.
    • Yeah, but if he goes to Science Hill they are guaranteed at least a win over Kingsport and that's basically the NET Superbowl
    • I expect Sevier County might be pretty good, perhaps Mo West as well.     But I don't see either of them getting out of round 2.          The rest of the region gets smoked in round 1.            Except for those once-in-a-blue-moon anomaly years the NET big schools are pretty much the same every season.
    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
