Looks good at least for the east.  Bledsoe could go in with 3 or 3.  I kind of like to see Bledsoe go with 4 to keep them with their natural rival Jasper.

Region 6 would be a tough one to play through. Stout!

There's only around 43 miles between Bledsoe County HS and Marion County HS they will be in the same region.

They may be, but it's not all about 2 schools. TSSAA has to make the regions and numbers work, and there are a lot of schools closer together than that who won't be in the same region.

You hit on the main reason that it's very hard to put everyone where it's best for everyone...take any one school, work from their perspective, and it wouldn't be difficult to fill out a region that would have good gates and less travel. Don't know how familiar you are with the west, but there will inevitably be teams driving double the distance from a non-region school to get to a region game, and people wonder why...because another team/region would be together with schools even greater distances apart if not. Camden, Waverly, Martin, Huntingdon is a good set to use as an example...not much travel among this bunch together, but if you place them that way some others would have distances that would be double or over most weeks.
