I don’t think there was any reason to mention “over looking” Munford… when you’re the underdog…

I was referring to the poster from Covington that stopped by a couple times to ensure us that Munford is legit as if we didnt think they were, so yes the "over looking" was worth mentioning because it was being implied, so no @TheCommissioner it is not correct...

Referring to a poster in a comment that didn’t specify that referral… nice. I forgot to choose mind reading as my one wish upon birth.

I hope most do pick them, and people keep insinuating that the Jackets will overlook them, so others have that perception for some reason, we know better...

I doubt that many will pick against the Jackets...y'all have proven in the past that beating the perceived "better" team on the road in the playoffs is not the exception, but the norm. Munford has proven to folks in our area that they are athletic and know how to win, so in the popular "pick em" contests on here they'll get some votes, but I doubt if there'll be much chatter on the forum about Springfield being an underdog.

Well here it is, Munford at 11-0 will host the Jackets next Friday, I look forward to making the trip. From looking at film they look to have really nice facilities, this should be fun. I will pick a winner and give a score later in the week...

Thoughts?

Since they finally got turf this year they do have a decent facility except for the visitor stands.  If you bring a decent following with you there’s not enough room in those little rickety stands. But hey maybe there NIL deals got into their budget a little. No big deal. Facilities don’t win ball games so it should be a good one down there Friday night.

Well, not my fault if you werent following the comments, I didnt have to specify the poster because he was not questioning my choice of words. I know we are the underdogs but I really dont care about that. Anyway, just a little misunderstanding, I believe we will all get through it...lol

I am old, not very bright, and easily confused. Why was I tagged here?  We are the underdog in my mind in the Munford game.

We are second in our region and they are first in theirs.  We have loss two games, they are undefeated.  We are driving halfway across the state to play and they are playing in the comforts of their stadium. Can the Jackets win?  Certainly, we have done this before.

No game is a given from here on out.  I repeat we are the underdog and need not get ahead of ourselves.

I think it’ll come down to Springfield/Henry Co. the question is how good is Nolensville and Page? I still see Knox West being the favorite.

I believe the Jackets will go to Munford Friday night and take care of business. Y’all will definitely by far be the best team they’ve seen this year. I personally don’t consider y’all the underdog in this one. Munford has a good team but I just don’t think their on the same level with Springfield.

I never said we were not the underdog, which is just perception of others. Personally I say we lost 2 games to teams that could beat them as well, also they finished 1st in a region that I believe we would have won going away, finally, I just like how we match up with them, I will leave it at that...

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
