AC is blowing them off the line and GV is getting absolutely zero pass rush. Martinez has all day to throw the ball and it is showing in his 11/11 and 2 tiddies

You're correct about that.  What I meant was GV is blowing AC defensive line off the ball.  They are shoving AC around.

Good start for AC. They've made less mistakes and have made some plays.

GV has a lot of really good athletes but they look less disciplined.

AC will need to play mistakes free with great composure in the 2nd half. GV started to find a little something on defense at the end of the half. I wonder how much the experience of the 2 teams is playing a factor here.

First downs AC 10 GV 9

Rushing yards AC 10 GV 55

Passing yards AC 150 GV 103

Total yds AC 159 GV 158

Difference is turnovers at this point. AC got a little better on defense against the run after the first couple series.  GV was blowing them off the ball early.  If GV comes out with that 7 line men set on offense they could march down the field again.  AC LBs started tackling down hill in the gaps which helped. The danger there is if the back gets past you  he's gone.  Good game so far.

I was told Anderson County had zero chance to win this game....They look like the better team to my eyes

We’ve heard the same thing as well.

AC looking pretty good, reminds me how they looked in 2017. Greene doesn’t seem rattled and they’re still playing hard.

2nd half coming soon, may the best team win.

Go Greene !

AC player was clearly down, completely.  So GV gets a huge gift by the refs. But, thems the breaks. Let's see if AC loses composure. Something they've struggled with against GV in years past.

Big break, GV didn’t capitalize. That was a backbreaker. If AC scores here, it’s over. Dabbs must really be hurt, he’s a non-factor.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
