MASE is gonna have to open up the passing game to win this one since MCKenzie will likely load the box to try to stop Brown. MASE does have other weapons and they will have to step up. Brown is on a mission tho, if they don’t load the box and he goes over 200 gonna be a long night for McKenzie. If MASE plays a clean game and can eliminate some of the self inflicted wounds they had against Peabody they should be fine.

Peabody is a good solid team this year but they were not as good as McKenzie. McKenzie is just a level ahead of everyone in 1a and probably 2A. Again, I really think MASE is a very good team but they will have to play durn near perfect to win this game. Brown is a beast but I am like you MASE is going to have to throw the ball and I have not seen that out of them in their last 2 games. McKenzie will not beat themselves with penalties. MASE is the best coached and disciplined team that I have seen come out of 1A Memphis since the 80's. I expect this will be a great game but I feel like McKenzie wins by 2tds. On a side note I hope the MASE kids have a home crowd to show up and support them because they haven't the last 2 games. Those kids deserve better.

I agree with everything you texted.Mase is built around Brown.Havent seen they can throw the ball effective.Think McKenzie can stop the run somewhat. And agree about the crowd. Its a shame Brown and the others play for a team that don't have any fans.

They do deserve better, they have a good team and play really good defense. Last night, I said McKenzie will win if they can throw the ball downfield and set up Taylor to get in space. MASE secondary is also pretty good as well. If they clean up some stuff and get more yardage from other players besides Brown to keep the opposing D honest they will be fine. MASE might not come out with the W but they will play hard and give McKenzie all the want. I wouldn’t be surprised if either team wins.

I think it will be a great game. Imo McKenzie is just a little better. MASE can win this game and it wouldn't surprise me if they do but again I think the Rebels are little better.

I agree, and it’s not a knock on MASE either. McKenzie is a complete team imo. Just like what the saying goes, that’s why they play the game. Will be a dandy for sure

the poster is not crying, just stating a fact.  MASE is an all star team a d it will be a good game . The bracket God's shined on them not having to leave Memphis during the playoffs.

All star team? They’re a really good 1A team. Not an all star team and not world beaters. Why’s this only an issue with MASE? Why did nobody care when Peabody had a few madison County kids (two being a set of brothers) or that Henry Co took Martin kids or that McKenzie took an Atwood kid or that Dyer Co and Dyersburg robbed lake county blind. MASE is playing by the same rules that allowed all of those and they all like to use “homegrown” stuff.

That's what these people do.  It's okay until it happens against them.  Poor little ole me.

Because it’s Memphis. And we all know how the rest of the state feels about Memphis.

All most people are going to read into is the we got 14 new kids to replace and bench the ones that gave their all last year part.  I believe TSSAA should have done their due diligence and split the kids up and had a maximum # aloud to transfer to one school and that would have totally avoided this situation. There is more than 1 Charter school in Memphis city limits.

I’m sorry but this is an awful idea. You want tssaa regulating where kids can and can’t go to school? I don’t think there’s one person who wants that.

TSSAA couldn't care less where kids go to school. TSSAA regulates schools from assembling athletic talent for the sole purpose of competing against other teams within their association. There are many rules in place to prevent such an event from happening, including coaching links and transfer policy...thus the MAHS transfers requiring a hardship exemption.

I have been in support of the MAHS kids who are now at MASE all season...they were placed in a bad situation by some horrible people but have come out of that chaos smelling like a rose. Fans have a right to question the validity (pretty shady at best) of how an entire team (coach included) changed schools and were green-lighted to play, and you have a right to answer or not as you wish...I find it pretty funny that most of the supporters though feign being shocked that anyone would question the complete innocence of everyone involved.

It was coordinated...you got away with it...just let it go.

Trader didn’t Scotts Hill’s best baseball player of all Time drive 35 mins from Lexington every day? One of your best now travels from Decatur Co every day. Just confused on why it matters about innocence or yadayada when your own school does some shady stuff. Yes I know the Henderson Co enrollment situation. I know Shelby Co’s and charter schools’ too.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
