I see Knoxville Grace trying to move back to Division I. The Way to go

Midway moving to Region 1 would give that region strength and even the 2 regions

York moving from region 3 to region 2 is a win-win

Humboldt moving from Region 7 to Region 6 a very smart move

Going from 4A to 3A would be easier for Whites Creek but we will see

Region 5-4A could lose not one but 2 teams in whites creek and marshall county

I also see Marshall County don't want none of Station Camp, moving to Region 4 might give them a better shot

Scotts Hill moving from Region 7 to Region 6 would be a very smart move

Midway wanting to leave Region 2 for Region 1 in football makes no sense.

Region 2 has 3 county teams and adjacent county schools.

Region 1 doesn’t have a team working an 1.5 hour drive.

Thats an odd request.

Winning > Everything

They will have a better chance to make the playoffs in R1. It’s obvious they are trying to get away from CF, OZ, GB, Rockwood and probably even future Harriman teams, if they ever get a coach they will be tough.

All reasonable request in football and some for softball and basketball. Hopefully they will be granted.

I’m surprised Marion is not in that weak division with Bledsoe and Oneida?  Went from a tough district to one of the weakest imo

That’s still surprising to someone from Roane County. Talking to some Midway alumni that I know, they seemed not too happy about it (if true). These guys would have loved to be in the same district with Rockwood, Harriman and OS.

I guess it’s a different mentality than 20-30 years ago.

I do believe Humboldt can win their appeal. However, I don't understand why the TSSAA didn't put Dresden into Region 6 initially because of of two things: 1) location 2) balance regions 6&7 out at 7 teams a piece.

If Humboldt wins the appeal, they'll likely finish second in the region. If they don't, they can probably finish 4th in Region 7. If Humboldt does win, the other winner from this would be either Halls or South Fulton because one of those teams will likely get a playoff spot.

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
