The real poison is in Blackman middle school... an unnamed  coach is telling parents and players they need to go to Rockvale or Oakland... so says some of the parents I have heard talking about swapping to Oakland

If that’s the case, that’s pretty darn sad. It wouldn’t surprise me though.

Unfortunately winning State Championships draw kids to the school

Tamari (TT) coming Oakland had more to do with his parents than any coach at Blackman or Oakland. I heard it directly from Derrell’s mouth.

That was one example of where the coach did advise thats where they should go... Either way, when you have your feeder/ pushing kids elsewhere that is poison

Ok. I will say this first time to respond and last time to respond on here but do read it from time to time. I can promise you I'm Blackman thru and thru and I want nothing more than to see the kids that go thru the program that I coach at the middle school finish at Blackman high school. I want the whole program to be successful. I can assure you I'm not poison. -Coach Pierce

The Blackman Middle School coach does not push kids to Oakland or Rockvale High School.  A parents choice is a parents choice.  And he most certainly is not poison.  If anything he has been consistent for that community in running a winning/quality/discipline program that feeds into that high school for years.  He is at every BHS home game while supporting everyone of those kids and staff.  So, while some use this forum to push hearsay I’ll start and stop with facts.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
