Halls had a tough one against Page but pulled it out abs were able to FF the last match.

Halls vs Soddy was great.  Crowd got into it. They started at 145 and it was back and forth.  Halls needed everything they could get from everyone.  Bull at 220 came through big for them for 6. SD bumped their 195 to 220 looking for more points. The Whaley Brothers got bonus points for Halls.

THE turning point of the dual was at 120lbs. Cook was on the verge of getting pinned a couple times and at least giving up 4. But he was scrappy and you could tell he was really going for it. He got a reversal and stuck the SD kid with :01 onthe clock,  3rd period.

Other notes.  Gibbs had a legit shot at defeating SM. At 120, the SM kid won period 2, tried to sit on his lead in 3rd period. Gibbs kid went up 10-6 but got reversed and stuck with under 30 seconds left.  That was the pivotal match from that dual.

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
