Elizabethton vs Southside

Upperman had difficulty getting the ball to their post. If Elizabethton, which has more height than Upperman, can develop an inside game, it may take some of the pressure off of their outside shooters. Upperman seldom had an open look past the three-point line.

Betsy's Lina Lyon, compares favorably with Jala Cobb.

I'm inclined to go with South Side, but I think the game will be closer than others have posted in this forum. Checking the Coach T scoreboard, Elizabethton lost to Westview by three points early in the season.

SS by three points.

WV also had their worst shooting percentage game of the year against Elizabethton in that game and they have lost only 8 games in the last 4 years. I think Elizabethton is good, but SS is probably 6-8 points better than WV "this" year on most nights. Should be a good game and 4 quarters of swarm defense by SS.

Betsy let Dburg hang around too long on Tuesday. I think they have the talent to knock off SS but I couldn't understand why they couldn't slam the door shut. Chucking up 3s with 4 minutes to go and double digit lead, overly aggressive in final quarter with unnecessary fouls, etc. If they can play a more disciplined game and work inside, I think they win by 3. They try that same stuff that they did Tuesday it will be SS by 15.

    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
    • Hey, I am a big fan of LC even before my friend SC got that job.  Every time I have been down there for a game, their fans have showed up and stayed positive cheering on the boys regardless of the score.  I think they have great support and great potential.  I'm coming down for some home games this year for sure.  I'm pulling for LC.
    • They didn't erect one of Zeller when he took them to the Quarter Finals in 2011 getting beat by a TD by Powell and Dy'Shawn mobley or in 2012 when they went 9-3 and finished 2nd in the conference behind Maryville. (That conference was stacked too with teams like Maryville, Catholic, West, Farragut, and Bearden)
