On another note, what’s the overall consensus on here re: merit of 7 on 7? I’m sure this has been discussed a lot on other threads somewhere, but would like to hear a few comments on this one, since the topic was recruitment. So does it truly help develop & benefit players, and not just on one side of the ball? Is it mostly to showcase talent? Money-making operation? Or a legit endeavor for players & parents to invest their time & money in?

The 7v7 allows kids and parents to check out the schools they are interested in. Most kids and parents involved in 7v7 know the schools kids would prefer to attend. Then, it allows the host schools the opportunity to converse with those kids. Just like everybody else, kids want to go to a good program where they are wanted.

7v7 serve a purpose, but it's not a true indicator of how the season will go. It's also a easy way for players to pick up bad habits right before the season. If there was a true benefit to hosting these events,  alot more of them would pop u. Parents don't need a 7v7 event to know if they want their kid to transfer to a certain program
