TSSAA should suspend Daniel Boone from all Post Season play.

Elizabethton and Boone will play next year and many years to come. It is a good money game and close distance wise. The weather won and they decided to play on Thursday. As far as Elizabethton schedule it has been a mess the past 3 years. Only 9 games the past 2 years even though a team would have played them allegedly and then this year last 3 games at home which means next year the last 3 will be on the road.

I'm a bit confused... since 1975 Morristown West has played Greeneville 46 times.     Since 1972 Boone has played Elizabethton 37 times.    Boone knows that every year the Elizabethton game will be a loss but we keep scheduling them anyway, year after year after year....     So in what universe are we to believe that Mo West & Boone are afraid to play these opponents?      I was under the impression that the prevailing thought here is that playing tougher opponents helped make your team better and got you more conditioned for the playoffs, so are we now saying that you should not play teams you are afraid of, instead play only cupcakes?

They both knew this year they would be mudhole stomped with Greeneville and MO West and Elizabethton and Boone. It was both away games so it doesn't hurt their pockets. No band concessions for Elizabethton or Greeneville. No tickets sales. Sponsors paying money for just 3 home games. Tssaa should allow any playoff money to stay in Greeneville and Elizabethton to make up for those games or force MW and Boone to compensate for what they have done. The Boone Elizabethton was to be televised live and BOONE new what was waiting for them in Elizabethton and those yellow bellies didn't want any part of that on live TV.

I feel like you are trolling now.  You're trolling right?  TSSAA should allow any playoff money to stay in Greeneville and Betsy to make up for the games?  TSSAA not getting their money.  How dare you sir, they want and need that sweet $$$.

Again, TSSAA is not going to care anything about what a school is doing during the regular season, they only care about their cut of each ticket for playoff games.

Always more to the story, here is some quotes and context of this back and forth of chest beating.

Boone athletic director Danny Good said the teams set 10 p.m. as a deadline to restart the contest, but the weather didn’t cooperate. Because it is a Region 1-5A contest, it has to take precedence in being finished.

“We talked about coming back (Saturday), but that didn’t work for Morristown West,” Good said. “Sunday afternoon didn’t work for us.”

That left Monday and Thursday on the table.

“Monday wasn’t ideal because it doesn’t put the kids from Morristown West and Daniel Boone in the best position to be successful, having two games in four days,” Good said. “It’s unsafe, and we’re not going to ask our kids to do that.”

So that pushed the game to Thursday, meaning West will also have to cancel its scheduled game with Greeneville — which has already had two of its first four games ruled “no contest” because of weather problems.

Good said he hopes the situation doesn’t damage the strong relationship with the Cyclones.

“It helps us to get better, and the second reason is to make money,” Good said.

Elizabethton ran into weather problems of its own against Cherokee. The Cyclones and Chiefs rescheduled their game for Sunday at 3 p.m.

Also running into problems was West Ridge, which will not make up its game against Lakeway Christian.

“(Lakeway’s) athletic director met with myself and (Lakeway coach) Thad Wells and based the decision off of radar,” West Ridge coach Justin Hilton said. “We were looking at a 10:35 p.m. kickoff or later. A makeup was never discussed because we both have region games next week.”

Other teams were able to get their games finished despite long delays. Dobyns-Bennett fell 25-14 to Jefferson County and Volunteer was on the short end of a 35-13 decision against Northview Academy.

South Greene’s game against Chuckey-Doak was moved to Saturday morning, where the Class 2A Rebels pulled off a somewhat surprising 34-20 win over the Class 3A Black Knights.

Sevier County will play its Region 1-5A game against Cocke County on Monday at 7 p.m. Also moved to Monday was North Greene’s home game against Cumberland Gap.

Keyword "playoff game"And a totally different set of circumstances in that situation. If you haven't figured out how the T$$AA operates by now than you might need to do a little more digging. They could care less if a regular season game gets made up or not. Just conference and playoff games.

Really this whole issue is down to contract between the two schools.  You want a real understanding, you could ask to see that since it's public record.

One of the few local teams that will play y'all when they don't have to.  This is silly. get your head out your backside.

2023-24 TSSAA Handbook  Page 12 July 18, 2023 Contracts

Section 11. Contracts made and entered into by member schools may be cancelled by mutual agreement or by authority of the Board of Control. All contracts between two schools shall be signed by the principals contracting.   In the event a dispute arises under a written contract between two member schools, and the contracting schools are unable to resolve that dispute, either school may request a resolution by the Executive Director.  The Executive Director’s determination may be appealed to the Board of Control, whose decision shall be final and binding.  TSSAA shall not resolve any disputes under contracts that are not in writing.  Please see FAQ’s on Page 42-61.

Who would have guessed.  The TSSAA can resolve a contract disupute.  The school just has to request it.  If they don't request it, we can assume they're fine with it.

The coaches at Boone could not be bothered to give up their weekend planes to play a football game. Both games were home games for Elizabethton and Greeneville our Band makes $30 to $40K a game in concessions that's the only revenue for 300 kids playing in our band Program. Where is that money from their program going to come from? Season ticket holders now only have 3 games to watch. Banner sponsons only have 3 games who would pay $2000 a year for 3 regular season games. Both teams should be made to forfeit their games and play the games they contracted to play. Conference or no conference. They both can take a loss. TSSAA should make a rule that teams that have weather delays have 3 days to make it up without interfering with other contracted games or if other open dates allow play them then. This takes thousands of dollars out of Greeneville and Elizabethton Athletic programs that affect other sports that rely on that money. Maybe now other programs will have to be cut like Girls' Wrestling or volleyball, softball, No it's because 2 boneheaded coaches could not miss their NFL home ticket and play their football game.

You are right seeing Mo West was to play Greeneville and Elizabethton had already stomped Mo West. Both teams sought to Avoid losing to two smaller 4A schools. Both should be suspended...it's not right for the seniors to have games taken away because Teams are afraid  to play them. What good is TSSAA they need new leadership in allowing this.

Will Greenville make up games with D-B and Alcoa?
