At this point, I think it would be better to only let the top 2 teams get automatic berths into the playoffs and let the rest be wild card teams. I'd be stunned if the TSSAA voted to go back to 5 classes, much less 4

Well Georgia also never had the private schools separated, although that looks to be coming. So the 7 included all the private schools. We have 9.

Yet you support a team that has dominated the their in for nearly 30 years, Oakland has dominated for only a third of that time.  I agree that parity makes it more fun but don't act like you didn't enjoy Maryville being a team you could automatic write in for the semifinals.

Oakland isn't any more talented than any other successful team in Middle Tennessee and they aren't the only ones high profile transfers move to, what got them to the next level was taking the model that made Maryville so successful and applying it to their own and it doesnt hurt they have one of the best staffs in the state. I figured most Maryville folk could appreciate that but maybe I'm wrong

When you say that took Maryville’s model and applied it to their own, what do you mean by that? I’m curious, because they play two completely different styles of football. So I’m not really sure what you’re trying to say.

It will be interesting to see what position he plays in college. He looks good in all three phases. He is special with the ball in his hand, but that one-handed INT was one to remember - Deon Grant type of play. He looks like a great player who has gotten better this year.

I'm not saying he's equal to Boo Carter but Noah Vaughn was special too, injuries just derailed him. Anytime he touched it he was a threat to take it to the house

By having complete buy in from youth league all the way through high school, developed by top flight coaching. Your right as far as scheme goes,  they couldn't be more different although Hunt has been more run oriented than his predecessor

Fair enough and if the privates decide to stay you might be able to eliminate a class but my point still stands, I'd be very surprised if they ever eliminate a public school class

Not bashing Oakland but good for the game to see different teams win. Yes Maryville done exactly the same thing but as time wore on it became evident why no one was coming to see a azz whooping across the field from us. Not an Oakland hater by any means. Maryville lost not only a great head coach but two Hall of Fame assistants that you can see the difference like night and day. It would be nice to see the move ins slow down some and play with your own crop and not reload with all D1 players year after year. Creasy is a fine coach indeed and has been very successful. I have a lot of friends that no longer attend  the games anymore because they already know no matter what or how good we are we have to deal with the Oakland beatdown. I honestly feel the same way but not ready to jump off the ship but I don't go to many games as I once did in years past. No way in ale was I going to drive down 75 last night to watch what I already knew was going to happen when I could watch it at home and save the long drive and even watch other games like the Jefferson and Bearden game and also the Oak Ridge disaster and be in bed  after, while everyone is only halfway back from the game. Plus I also do not agree with the dictatorship that is running that high school and why I won't give them a wooden nickle to help out while that BS keeps going on and gets deeper every year.

Don't disagree with you on the probability. Just my opinion on the fact that the TSSAA has set things too broad for the number of teams.

Says who? You??

ummm, i made the post, so yeah, says me.

What I saw was a bunch of the MHS fans saying that the BCHS fan base could not talk since they "had not been there before" and things to that nature.  Based on the outcome of last nights contest, I made my post.  But not until the contest was complete, since that was the point those fans seem to be making.

Yes, great player. Murvil has had several. #22 from a decade ago was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. But Murvil kids don’t play both ways like some studs do at other schools. BCs #6 was great on defense, offense, and special teams.

If your friends aren’t prepared to see maryville lose then they’re trash fans. If you’re only a fan when they’re winning… you’re no fan at all.

Boo Carter playing both ways…Not sure why we aren’t seeing more teams maximize use of talent & manpower like Bradley, esp in games that really matter throughout the season & obviously post season. Takes some careful & strategic management to most effectively/safely use players both ways, but clearly it CAN be done.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
