When will the HamptonGirl pop in with excuses on why they lost by almost 50 points? Losing a single player doesn't make up for that kind of blowout.

Losing the player hurt on both sides of the ball but where it really hurts is your overall confidence, I knew we were really deflated. Kids play at different levels and this was not the same team that beat Bledsoe last week, If the kid had got hurt last week, Bledsoe would have killed us also. Kid was missed in more ways than one.

You want kids to be mentally tough but that's alot to ask of 15-18 year olds. The kids know that when a guy like that goes down, they have very little chance of pulling an upset. Definitely can deflate a team and knock their confidence out of them. Then everyone plays flat and once York gets up on them by 2 scores, it spirals even worse. I still think York wins by a couple scores if he did play, but stinks that it was under those circumstances. Still a really good season

It happens, still proud of these younguns. Seems like we always lose this time of year.

Getting to the qtr final is no easy task. Seems like SG always loses in the 1st/2nd Rd. They’ve only been to the qtr’s 1 time and got drilled by Meigs. I feel pretty good about next season :). I’m sure your Dogs will be right there in the mix as well. Goes by way too fast my friend.  Maybe I’ll run into you at a game where that round ball bounces. Have a blessed weekend. Congrats on a heck of a season.

    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
