Giles County vs Gatlinburg-Pitman.....I give the edge to GP. They were better Defensively.  Giles had a better running game. GP had a better passing game. Special teams pretty even. But, again GP was much better at stopping the run. My guess GP would beat Giles by 7 points????

Gatlinburg Pittman was by far better than Giles County. Giles is getting used to a running clock when they play Alcoa.:roflol:

We'll never know! Kind of like we'll never know if GCHS could have beaten East in the semifinals the last three years. At least the games would have been competitive.

Congrats to the 'Naders on another gold ball. With a little hard work and some luck maybe they can win another next year :roflol:

Giles County and East Nashville have been tough luck losers to Alcoa for several years now.  Both of them, along with formerly Pearl-Cohn, used to be Teams 1-2-3 in the old Region 5-3A.  They would all have a great chance at winning gold if they weren’t stuck in the same class as Alcoa.

Pearl-Cohn is now in 4A and had a great shot at winning 4A last season before falling just short against a great Anderson County team.  Let’s see how they do tomorrow against Upperman.  That game should carry a lot of intrigue from Giles County and East Nashville because they would love to be in that same position away from the F5.

    • I have no clue if Derek tried to talk some since into his dad or not about staying here. All he is going to accomplish is going from the oven to the frying pan. If I were the coach all Ale would freze over before I set back and watched one of my good players leave without a fight.
    • If this is true, South Gibson is taking a big chance. Passing on an experienced coach for a guy who has never coached at the high school level is a high risk move, especially in that district and region.
    • Dorian Eskridge was HVA's best back, 2011
    • Jo Byrns was a very solid team last year. Imo, I thought they presented the biggest challenge for us on our path to winning it all last year. I expect them to be in the conversation and one of the final few teams playing in Murfreesboro
    • I'm not sure you understand anything if you think DB's career and AD's career are comparable.  This is a terrible take.   Not to slight AD, He was a good player and he got better as he matured after high school.   But Desean had over 8,000 yards in HS and was a two-time Mr. Football.
