Lipscomb no significant history......GM had a lot of success. He was one of the best coaches from the mid-state.

Not in DII.  Beat up on...respectfully...a lot of bad teams when David Lipscomb competed in DI.

Dilfer was brought in to essentially create a high level program from scratch - hiring staff, upgrading facilities, buying players, etc.  Lipscomb had no significant football history prior - Ensworth certainly does, and they don't need facilities, staff, etc. Lipscomb got better quickly because of an injection of talent, and competing in DII-AA.  Ensworth has had talent, and they are in DII-AAA. Will be interesting.

My good friend from college whose grandson still attends Lipscomb’s jr high told me that Lipscomb had won 3 state titles and 4 runners up before Dilfer.   Old Coach Glen McCadams had won a ton of games there without cheating but they were in the public sector. Then that coach died suddenly. Lipscomb wasn’t ready for DII but was forced into it. They had no slush fund set up to buy players like our schools like Baylor and McCallie , so I am told they struggled and the coach  named to replace Mac was given no help or money by the administrators .  Then the big money daddies got involved and the circus came to town. The rest is history and the resulting probation.

Trickey Rickey always has a plan.  The guy is a competitor and a genius at getting the best out of high school athletes.

Booger also thinkin them Church o Christers of Lipscomb gotta bought 2 or 1 more Gold Balls than Ensworth.....Booger also guessin that in the same time that Ensworth has contested opponents on the gridiron...them Church of Christers of Lipscomb have more W's....and Lipscomb beat them Tigers everytime theyve contested each other...

Booger for sure aint no Lipscomb fan...but for MaseratiRick to accuse ole TD of buyin players...which might be true....what got all them studs down to Ensworth when they collected them 4 Gold balls in a row....a team who has managed not more than a 50% W season since that last Gold Ball in 13'....

If you are not cheating, you are not trying in D2. Sad but it has turned to who can play in gray area the best.

Ensworth has never hurt for talent, but when Bowers was in charge, he got every player he wanted - hence the consecutive gold balls.  Hasn't been the same since he stepped out of coaching...draw your own conclusions. It will be interseting to see which direction they go as far as targeting/acquiring talent with Hasselebeck in charge now.

Heard Rick the Quick is stepping down as AD.  I think he is staying on at Ensworth, not sure the role.
