Winter is Coming

I’m letting everybody know ahead of time what is on the horizon in 3A girls basketball. If you want to see what a multiple state championship team looks like at a young age check out, Upperman’s 6th grade team.  I’ve seen some very good teams at the grade school level in my time but now this one is different.

Not ready to roll with multiple ships yet, but do believe they played up most of the summer and still crushed it.

Gibson County has a pretty good 6th grade class our self. Huntingdon and South Gibson are loaded around here in Jr. High. Coach's grand daughter at Dyersburg is a 7th grader and is super talented. South Gibson also has 2 Freshman girls this year that are twins that look like D-1 players now.. They have 2 more Freshman that are good too. All four may start. District 13 AAA will be crazy good this year. I know Upperman is loaded and White County. I would pay good money to have a Tournamnet either there or here every year playing each other. Be great.

White County is the best team on paper in 3A this year. As they were last year, they should have won the state tournament, but you still have to play the games and you have to win when it counts.  With the transfer from Livingston Academy, they will be very hard to beat  I look for them to dominate the district regular season.  After that, it comes down to players playing and coaches coaching.

Just watching on here for years is it handling ball pressure that has troubled White County in the Tournaments?? I know they had the Dodgen girl 5 or 6 years ago that is in the record books. Seems they have had lots of talent. Upperman has always had talent for many years. I know at Gibson County in the late 80's-through the early 2000's we had some really good teams that had some heart breaking losses.

Brother, Alcoa is the winningest team in Tennessee high school football history. They have been to 19 of the last 20 state championships and won 17 of them… currently on a 9 state championship win streak for 3A they haven’t lost to a 3A team since 2014. Nobody is stopping that monster.
