Seeing that McMinn has a good OL prospect and I’m sure others as well they will win the battle upfront. They will win the game.

I hope so. Would love to see them extend their season some. Although I’m realistic in that semi’s would be the farthest they probably could go

Not sure about them being well coached. One touchdown for Rangman vs a bad Rhea team.

Pick any coach you want and they wouldn't have scored much more.I don't think Rang is an offensive savant but he can only do so much with what players are left.Ill give him credit for getting a win.Plus they said the put in a new FG block package that was really big.Your obsession with hating on Rang is odd

Well, I’m not sure where I said we were any good right now? I’m quite aware that we aren’t, but that wasn’t the point to begin with. And I’m pretty sure that Blankenship isn’t the only place that those things have happened, but in Tennessee I’d say it’s pretty few and far between.

It is an awesome place to play or watch a game for many reasons. The tradition can't be manufactured and from where we watch the game I get to hear opposing players and coaches reaction before they come down the hill and they are really impressed.I know some teams that have been at the top the last few years that have an average at best atmosphere. It is just different at some places and maybe it just takes time but some of the really good teams right now could only hope to have a atmosphere like Blankenship

These are the things that make it historic?? Is this the only stadium Bear Bryant ever visited? Is this the only place that Heisman Trophy winners ever played in high school. What about the history of a WV team beating them to death in the first round or the lack luster last couple of years when you have only been a couple of linemen away? Does that make it historic for the wrong reasons? The history means nothing to other teams. To the OR faithful and to those that have memories of Blankenship when OR was winning, maybe. But the “magic” and “mystique” mean nothing to teams today. OR is a shell of its former self. Will they be good again, sure they will, but right now they aren’t. “Lifers” are moving and playing at Clinton for goodness sake.

What lifers have moved and played at Clinton?

OR has some young players on the field right now but they have made some great strides in the past couple of weeks.  If the coaches could put a little more trust in 11,13, and 16 he would be able to open up our run game. The freshman 16 has proven he can catch by not dropping anything thrower at him. 11 is the go to right now but without spreading the ball around in the air and depending on just our run game will end this season quick. OR defense has really stepped up and if they can contain the minimal passing that  McMinn starting QB has in his arsenal this could be a good game. This is going to come down to coaching for OR. The talent is young but it is there.

Just sounds like excuses to me about injuries. It’s the 2nd round of the playoffs. Everyone is beat up and no one has all the starters that were there during the regular season.

We are all able to interpret things as we choose, and that includes you. My take is that this was the slowest and least athletic team I have ever seen OR have, and that was before the injuries. When you take away the fastest player on the team and the only real big play threat they had, that's a problem, which you are free to refer to as an excuse. Then when you take your next best athlete and receiver off an already athletically challenged team, with another season ending injury, that's a problem, which you are free to call an excuse. Then when you take your next best athlete off your team with yet another season ending injury, that is yet another problem for a team that wasn't all that talented to begin with, but you are free to call that another excuse. Teams all have injuries to deal with but I can't ever remember a team having to deal with this many season ending injuries to their top offensive weapons. OR won last week despite the injuries and I hope they can do that again this week, but as the competition stiffens as OR goes deeper into the playoffs, winning will become less and less likely because the teams who progress deep into the playoffs are the teams with the best players, and most of OR's best players are gone. Nobody is crying about it and you can view the mere mention of the injuries as excuses, but I call them facts.

Very well said. 3 of the 4 top players who provided all of the offensive production are done and have been for a good while. That’s hard to replace, I don’t care what team it is. And like you said, we weren’t overly talented to begin with. Rang has done just about as good as you can ask, despite what the naysayers say.

OR is supposed to be loaded with athletes year in and year out. Should you not have the “next man up” mentality?

My my how the “mighty” have fallen.
