Zeman was actually as good a kid as you would ever meet. He was pretty much all they had and still made it to the finals. I do believe he played most of the 2nd half with a separated shoulder. Those Zeman brothers were tough kids. I remember him cutting a cast off his wrist to play one game.

I agree 100 percent was my son closest teammate and he said he got to watch him do amazing things. Top 5 ever to play there and even better young man

I’m sure he was a great kid. I think it was actually a broken collar bone but I could be wrong. I don’t think you were posting on here back then.  I went back and forth with those guys all week. I knew when I watched film that Marion wasn’t beating Peabody

Blake was born a year too early. You're correct, it was a broken collarbone. As Coy mentioned, he was a one man band. If he would've been on the 15 squad I think MC would have pulled it out over Trezevant. He is definitely top 3 all time to wear the Purple and White in my mind.

You guys had a great team in 14 Tide

I stand corrected. I was at the game with family and thought it was a shoulder injury. No I wasn't on in those days. I followed all the local teams and cheer them all on. I like to take jabs for fun but these young men around here in the valley have "IT" whether it's Marion, So Pitt, Whitwell, Sequatchie, etc... this area is loaded with good ball players. It's a testament to good upbringing, good coaches, good talent, and just wanting to be the best. We are very fortunate to have the teams we have here on Friday nights and a lot of people take it for granted and won't pay $7 or $8 to watch them. Then you have some who thinks what they paid to get in funds the program. Look at the video board at SP. That's not from ticket sales. Marion wearing Titans Sensor vests in practice and in games. They're not cheap but it gets the word out to college coaches. Technology that I don't believe anyone else around here is doing. Even some colleges. That's why I get .messages daily from a coach saying he's looking for that one kid. Is it him???

    • Oh I know about Gibson Co and have seen them play Westview MANY times over the past 20+ years. However, after they lost Hart and Turner last year, I said they would struggle this year with not having a dominant player that could take over a game like years past and had posters on here comment saying they would be good. What I saw tonight is what I expected. They didn’t have a leader that stepped up and handled the ball and took over and ran their offense.    With the dominant win over Dyersburg last week and then Gibson Co this week, I think Westview has proved they are the top team in this area no doubt
    • I would say Westview is very fortunate to get the Gray kid from South Fulton.. I think they’re a different team without her there. She’s a good player.
    • I’ve watched a lot of west tn girls ball.. and I’ll say this.. Westview dominated tonight. But, the overall season for Gibson has been good. They lost a miss basketball, mvp, highest point scorer in the history of the program in Micah hart, and a really good defender in Miyah Turner.. those aren’t excuses. But maybe Gibson County hasn’t found their new identity without them. I’ll say overall history would say to not let one game base your decision. That program has a rich tradition. Maybe they regroup and find some solutions for the defense and lack of offense at times… still think you can count them in as the other team to get to state from this region and sub state, unless there’s a team I don’t know about.
    • Westview is best team in 2A ball.
    • I believe Sims, Gray, and Brent were the three in double digits and then several others had 3-6 each. Gibson County couldn’t stop Westview from hitting the three and when they tried, they drove right by them. I can’t tell you how many wide open layups Westview got. Gibson County got frustrated with Westview’s defense and had several turnovers. This is my first time seeing them this season and I’m interested in hearing if it was just a fluke because I wasn’t impressed at all. They don’t have a bench it doesn’t seem and outside of Rivers and Riding don’t have any athletes
