Haywood could be in mix, they should fight it out with fw for the district/region. This team could beat anybody in AAA,but could also lose to anybody good or bad teams, never seen anything like it

Any idea if Haywood loses anyone going into this next season?

Haywood graduates 7 or more this season. Next year they will be with Dyersburg, dyer county etc. Not sure they will even be in same region as FW next year.

Haywood is not in Fayette Ware's District or Region next season. They are in Region 7. Top Teams in that region will be Dyersburg, Dyer County, South Gibson, South Side, North Side, Haywood, and Lexington. Really tough Region. Haywood's new District is going to be legit too: Haywood, Obion, Dyersburg, Dyer County, Crockett County and South Gibson. Not a cake walk to the region tournament like they have been the last several years with 4 teams in their district.

It’s less about them being better or not and more about the fact that Coach Chearis has been to State three of the last 4 years. But I know you’re going off of what your eyes see. Not many believed they would be in the position they are in during the early 2025 talks  …I’m just saying

Since posting this that freshman has came alive in the postseason. So I tend to agree with you more now, but I still think they will need to find some height from somewhere to replace Stevens.

Wait so why does south side, north side, and Lexington change from region 6 to 7? They were district 12 this past season which is region 6.

My top 5 currently I believe are:

1. Upperman

(some space here, but not a ton)

2. Greeneville

3. Alcoa

(some more space here)

4. Fayette Ware

5. Jackson North Side/ maybe Fulton

I think 2 and 3 are interchangeable really. I just think with what all Upperman has returning I don't see them taking any steps back, matter of fact....they may try to go undefeated next season. At the very least be one of the top teams in all of TN.

Alcoa will be in District 5 with Heritage High School. Which means substate with Upperman. That could be interesting.

    • Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war. Hope all stays healthy.
    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
