We did this one last summer, but here we go:

 

Best Football Movie is a tie- Remember The Titans and Rudy. Both movies show the TEAM CONCEPT of football and they bring out the best attributes about the game.

 

No disrespect to my friend from Alcoa, but Varsity Blues is one of the worst movies for the same reason. It shows a total lack of respect of the game, from the stand point of the players and the coach. I have no doubt there are some coaches who are that way, but I have heard many coaches say that this movie has damaged the sport. I agree!

are yo kidding me... Varsity Blues? what is with the country accents with a gay twist? .... anyway the best football movie ever has to Rudy... one of the few movies that i makes me cry every single time.

north dallas forty, rudy, remember the titans, the longest yard, any given sunday, little giants(my son loves it, so i've had to watch it a million times) any movie with football in it is a great thing.

I am going to have to give a 1st place vote to Everybody's All-American. I also really like Rudy and I really like the Junction Boys (even though it is a made for TV movie).

(a great story that takes place on the best football campus in America)

(should have never been re-made...a classic)

4 Jim Thorpe All-American

(Burt Lancaster is excellent -- it is on ESPN Classics this weekend)

5 All the Right Moves

(tells the story of blue-collar football)

6 North Dallas Forty

(the book is better, but has some unforgettable scenes)

7 Waterboy

(contains some of the best tackles ever filmed; that kid reminds me of me)

8 Knute Rockne, All American

(they used to show this one on TV)

9 Everybody's All-American

(Jessica Lange is great in any film)

10 Heaven Can Wait

(Julie Christie never looked better)

9 The Replacements

(not the band)(story based on team Tony Robinson played for)

11 Any Given Sunday

(Al Pacino's final locker room speech makes the movie watchable)

12 Jerry Maguire

(great movie, but not a total football movie...great soundtrack)
