My Mr. Football Ballots....

Ok folks, it's time to state your case.

Who should I vote for and why? Why is more a question of numbers. Unfortunately one of the big deciding factors in this is numbers. So give me reasons to vote for your guy in the Back, Lineman and Kicker areas.

Those of you who are Plus Members I'd appreciate a PM from you on the subject. And any of you who are voting I'd really appreciate your input. I think we're all limited in our areas of knowledge and can't really do a ballot well without help.

So throw it at me.

I in turn will give you reasons to put some Grundy boys on your ballot in another post. I think some deserve high consideration and I'd like to see some get some votes for recognition for next year.

Del.

Dickson County's Grant Allen. He goes about 5'6" and has been the Cougars big-play guy all season. Huge receiving numbers at the 5A level (especially in Dickson's offense) and solid rushing figures along with six interceptions at DB. He is the most exciting player I've seen this season.

Some Grundy names to consider. (Grundy is 3A BTW.)

Senior QB/DB/LB

18 Justin Bryant 6'3" 210lbs

43 of 86 passing for 723 yards, 2 INT, 5 TDs, Long of 68, 16.81 yd avg.

130 rushes for 856 yards, 12 TDs, Long of 65, 6.58 yd avg.

78 total tackles, 56 solo, 19 assists, 3 tackles for a loss, 2 passes batted down, 1 interception for a TD, 3 fumble recoveries.

Senior TE/DE/LB

44 K.T. Mainord 6'4" 265lbs

67 total tackles, 19 solos, 37 assists, 10 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles, 2 hurries.

Note- Teams have run away from K.T.'s side most of the time.

Junior P/K/WR/DB

10 Dustin Fults 6'2" 190lbs

31 punts for 1083 yards, 34.94 yard average, long 54

1 for 1 in Field Goals for 32 yards

18 of 20 in PATs with 1 Blocked.

Note- This is the first year Dustin has kicked...ever. He didn't kick in Jr. high or JV.

If you'd just consider voting for Dustin in your #3 slot on the ballot it would help him in name recognition next year.

One to consider also but I know he'll have trouble because he's a junior is ...

35 Jeremy Melton FB/LB

94 total tackles, 59 solos, 33 assists, 2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery.

[2A Back Consideration!

QB-DB Jordan Cain 6'3, 180 from Sequatchie County

An All-State selection at QB last season as a Junior he had around 900 yrds. passing throwing 4 TD's he scored a total of 9 TD's 8 rushing and returned 1 Int for a TD on Defense.

His stats this season as of the Chatt. paper today

[/b]Cain is 49 of 110 for 689 yds. 9 Td's & 4 Int.

He probbably also has close to 200yds rushing and 5-6 rushing td's

For Tackles on defense he has.

61 solo, 41 asst., 102 Total, avg. 12.8

He also has forced probably 5 fumbles!
