Greenbrier vs Fulton

Fulton isn't overlooking Greenbrier. I'm sorry you got that impression. One question, who exactly would we be overlooking you to anyway?!?! The Falcons will have to play a perfect game in the Boro. No stupid mistakes. Defense wins Championships....that's SO true! The Falcon D will have to pley their A game to come out with the win. Robbie will have no problem adjusting offensivly to whatever the Greenbrier D throws our way. Speed and athleticism will be a factor in this one. By the numbers posted in this thread...the Falcons will need to stop the run....lets break up a few passes too! But...as we all know....numbers don't mean much at this point.

OK Falcons....we've heard you loud and clear. Alot of people didn't expect you to be here again....you didn't listen. Ya'll have made it back to the state with a team full of underclassmen in a "rebuilding" year. Congratulations!!! Now get your rings!!!

AE....ha!.... :( See ya on the court!

Ok, Well first of all let me congradulate my bobcats on a well played football game. The feeling is great isn't it?

Now the quote above, I have one thing to say about it to the Bobcats....DON'T PLAY FOR THE RINGS!!!! All it is is a peice of jewlry, yeah its great to have them I wouldn't give mine up for the world. But two years ago when we were playing in the State Championship I never once thought "I'm gonna win this for the ring" As a matter of fact, I don't recall ever thinking about it till it was all said and done....So...I say this again like I have before....Play for the love of the game, you're community and for PRIDE!!!!

(Not bashing what you said Pigeons4life, I just wanted to get that off my chest.)

Looking forward to a fun day next Saturday!!!!!

Good Luck Bobcats....and as always STAY FOCUSED

I look forward to our guys meeting Fulton next week in "the 'Boro". I think it will be an outstanding game. Unlike Smith Co., Greenbrier does have a lot of speed and can cover tall and fast receivers. Just ask Jackson Southside and Kingsbury. We also play the run very well. Sounds like it should be a defensive struggle for the Gold Ball. I'm looking forward to a great game between two great teams!

Also, I am surprised to see some of the Greenbrier faithful getting caught up in "the smack" on here. Guys, I seriously doubt Fulton is overlooking the #2 ranked team in the state that has already beaten two well-coached, very athletic, and disciplined ball teams. All they have to do is watch our game tape and they know they will be in for a dog fight.

And, all we have to do is watch their game film to see we will be in for a dog fight. I fully expect it to be one heck of a "headknocker" that will come down to the final minutes just like our last two games.

I don't think focus is an issue any more. Nothing else ahead except this one game to lose focus on. I could see on their faces last night that they were already thinking about one more win instead of "just making it there"!

GO BOBCATS!

who ever put the post about Greenbrier wins 28-27, Greenbrier will never score 28 on our defense. I'm not talking trash when I say this but, Greenbrier is just going to be over matched. This Fulton team, all though young, is just very talented. Just wait til you see my sign next week KWalker, you will get a kick out of it. Ish, keep it up boy, you are playing your game now, you keep it up, they aint got a chance. Do you thing Bishop, get what you came to Fulton for, a state ring

The crowd that traveled 4 hours on 5 Gray Liners was amazing.  Look for just about all of Greenbrier to show up for this one.

Yeah, if I had to guess, I'd say we had about 1500 people at the game. I am basing that on the fact their visitor bleachers seemed to be a little bigger than our home bleachers and we had them PACKED!

I was completely IN AWE of the crowd! Way to go Greenbrier! Now, let's triple that for the Championship Game!

formerFHSplaya04,

I agree with you. I doubt that either team with score over 21. I expect it to be more like our game against Kingsbury.....a 14 - 13 score or something like that. Should be a GREAT ONE!

I am going to try my hardest to go the game on saturday. Both teams are good and both teams are battling for what we all want. Good luck to both teams. Greenbriar get ready to cover super athletes at the wide out spot. These boys are real tall, fast, athletic, and will be able to jump out of the boro.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
