Who is the best team ever in Tennessee high school football?

How far back do you want to go? Pre-USA Today? Pre-state playoffs? The mid-30's? Since the game, the rules, the eligibility, integration, and the split have all changed things so much, it would be more accurate to name the top team in each decade.

I'm going to have to go with

 

Brentwood Academy....9 State Titles

Dobyns Bennet........9 State Titles

MBA.........8 State Titles

Maryville.......8 State Titles

Oak Ridge....7 State Titles

 

You could make a case for any of these great teams.

if your going just for 1 year, the 1994 riverdale team was as good as any. i think they ended up having 5 or 6 guys that went D-1

The best team ive seen was the 1997 Pearl Cohn team with John Henderson Santonio Beard and In Fitzgerald and if im not mistaken Ron Slay played to.

I probaly havnt seen as many great football teams as you all have but that was the best team ive seen

Best team I ever seen was the 93 Cleveland team.I will never forget them putting 70 on Maryville that year.

93 cleveland team? they didn't even make it to the finals in 93. It was Lincoln County and Riverdale that year.

The best team ever in TSSAA, well I dont know about that one, but the best team in Tennessee would probably be that Shebyville Bedford County Training team(s) of the 1940s and early 50s. Had 7 straight undefeted seasons, went 82 games without being beaten, and had 52 consecutive shut out games. Even if they did play all cupcake teams(which they didnt) thats pretty good.
