For Division 2A Micah Scheetz from Webb School ok Knoxville for Miss Basketball. Her game has contined to progress. As a Junior she has reached 1500 points and is averaging 22+ points per game. She is leading in scoring, assists, and rebounds. She has several D1 offers and is being heavily recruited as a combo guard by SEC and ACC programs.

Single A:

Madison Heckert - West Carroll - 6'4 post - Madison is easily averaging a double-double every game. One of the most dominant post players in the state in Single A. She has led her team to a 24-0 record thus far (should go undefeated in regular season). Very high academics and a great kid in general. Getting big time interest from colleges right now as a junior.

Double A:

Myah Taylor - Dyersburg - 5'11 guard - Myah is easily a top 3 player in the state in Double A. In fact, I think she's the best Double A player in the state (MISS BASKETBALL WINNER). She dropped 44 in a game just last week in a game that her team won by 3. Through 18 games, Myah is averag 23.1 points per game, 9.2 rebounds per game, 2.5 assist per game, 4.5 steals per game and has hit 62 three's this year. She led her team to state last year as a junior and has signed to play college ball with the Univ. of Tennessee-Martin.

Triple A:

Brandi Beasley - Memphis Ridgeway - 5'6 point guard - Brandi is one of the top point guards in the state in all classes. She has led Memphis Ridgeway to a #4 national ranking according to USA Today. Beasley was key in Ridgeway's run to state runner-up last year as a sophomore (was leading scorer for Ridgeway in the championship against Blackman with 16 points). Beasley is a great kid with high academics. She has several high level offers and should be nominated as a Miss Basketball finalist in Triple A.

I just received my ballot from TSSAA for Miss Basketball awards. Please tell me who you support in each class and division. Provide stats and reason if possible. Thanks in advance.

Callie Hackett... 24.4 ppg...5.2 assists...3.5 steals....for 8AA Smith County. She is the best player in 8AA...and certainly the most valuable player. Those stats are misleading because she didn't play much in several blowouts. Her highest point games were against Dickson County...Mt. Juliet & White County...all ranked in top 10 in AAA. Her career point total will end at 2572 points. She is a very good defender also. She signed with Mercer university.

Great choices GC.  What about division 2? Any good players in West TN?

I'd like to add Anna Jones, sophomore at University School of Jackson, to the conversation in Division II-A. She averages 26.1 points per game. Jones recently had two 40+ point games (40 vs. Trinity Christian and 43 vs. Madison Academic). She passed the 1,000 career point mark last week after playing 50 varsity games. USJ is 20-4 and ranked 5th in this week's AP poll.

Agreed! She has done some impressive things this year at USJ!

I pretty much only follow AA in West TN, but here's my opinion:

AA | Myah Taylor from Dyersburg is a baller. She was 9-16 from THREE point range in a game last Saturday where she scored 44 points. Averaging nearly a double-double at 23+ points & 9+ rebounds, she has earned a scholarship to play at UTM. She has 2 triple doubles and numerous double-doubles to go along with setting multiple school records including most 3 pointers in a season and most 3 pointers in a game this season. She is nearing the 2,000 point mark for her career. (I know GC said some of this, but I wanted to reiterate.)
