Now back to single a.I like the teams .Makes it more fair to the South Fulton's,Greenfield's,Gleasons and Lake Co ,although Lake Co has fared well in past seasons and will again once the players stay home.and I think this bunch will.Huntingdon  will always be tough .Not sure about Dresden after this year, although I hear they do have a very good younger quarterback.then i look and see Souh Pittsburg,Wayne Co etc.Going to be some good even teams now.I still hope we play Union city and Halls which I think in Halls we will.I hope we drop Fulton Co,

Still can't get my mind off of Union city.Halls has been AA for years with close to 450 students most years while Union city has been Single A all this time with around 300 students.I have written several times that I wish Halls was in Single a.Drive to Halls and itm looks like your Lake Co's,Greenfield's,Gleason's.I know they have a lot of county kids but the town of Halls itself. Then drive to Union city and it look's like Jackson. Now Hall's has 443 students and Union city has 463.Where did these students come from so fast?

Trousdale County had an enrollment of 388. That was about what the enrollment was 15 years ago. They are the only high school in that county.

So have they not grown any in 15 years?

Revy, being completely honest, how much better do you think this team is than last years and why?

I guess experience plays a part in them being noticeably better as a whole, but a list is: skills of our ends catching almost anything near them then amazing RAC yds after, our highlight reel QB who may repeat as Mr Football (and if he gets hurt we do have capable replacements), several tough speedy running backs who can run over or past you, and a stingy beasty defense (best in state maybe?) who knows how to stop the offense plus score lots of points on them (bunch of drills on causing turnovers then scoop & score). But for me, talking to players, & seeing it in their eyes, it's because of our bitter defeat last year at hands of Trenton. It's a lesson our Lions will never forget. This awakened them to being more serious, intense, and focused. It's a different mindset, way different. Like night and day. They playing with a "teamwork makes the dream work" mind instead of wanting to hog the limelight and be a showboat as an individual star (had that last year). This years team is setting a high bar & standard our future teams will be inspired & challenged to emulate (success breeds success idea). So skill sets are more refined & experienced, good depth of non-starters who has lotsa playing time under belt so its hardly any letup when they're in, and a champion's attitude that's needed for a team to go all the way. Plus our coach & staff is top tier, just like those in East said he would be. Even better than described. Sorry to ramble & kinda brag, but we're proud of our Lions. You havta see this team play to believe it. Truly awesome. Yet, we still not tuned-in on all 8 cylinders. Not yet (hope we increasingly peak in playoffs). Lions are real deal, sorry haters, but it's true.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
