I think that's it David. I was there a year ago, maybe it was two. Nice playing surface. I remember they had some nice stripping done. Dugouts looked more like rec. league dugouts than a high school facility, but overall a very nice field. Don't remember there being much other for facilities there though. Nice field, but far from being the best in TN. I've been to a lot of fields in Middle TN, some in West TN and very few in East TN.

Humboldt has a very nice looking field. You all should make it over to ETN and check out GCA Rams field. We get less rainouts than any Class A team in the state. The turf infield allows for no practice cancellations. That has resulted in consistently better players and teams the past several years we've had that infield. Having said that, "Best" is up to the eye of the beholder. Some old school folks will snub their noses at the artificial turf. Vandy sure likes theirs, and they're OK. CAK in W. Knoxville also has a beautiful baseball field, but they are AA.

I don't know if these are the best in the state, but the guys at Union City Turf Management do a pretty darn good job.

Union City came to my mind first when I read the Humboldt poster's remarks...everything about the UC facility is beautiful. It was donated to the school from an outside source, and no shortcuts were taken when it was built.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
