  1. Today
  2. My opinion the 8 teams will be- Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
  3. I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
  4. A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
  5. Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
  6. Yesterday
  7. I was kind of surprised to read this. I thought the general concision was most programs are going back to natural grass. Personally, I have never liked turf. I see the arguments on both side for or against it. I just never liked them. Also, I did not know there as an impaction test that these fields had to pass. Good stuff OP
  8. I'll check. TSSAA still has the game listed.
  9. My understanding is that Daniel Boone and Elizabethton will not play each other this year and both have posted a "need game" on tssaa bulletin board for the week they were previously scheduled. You can verify this at your convenience. Tx.
  10. I guess all the action in this thread from last year graduated.
  11. go from 6/5 to 7/4 if he's lucky? hardly an upgrade.
  12. I heard he’s going to Science Hill instead.
  13. Tough situation. Not sure the ROI is there right now. Might be better options that are cheaper.
  14. Thanks to some awesome guys, most notably "fredjones" and "JetPride". Lots of hours went into this. We still have a few to finish up but most are now complete: 2024 TN Prep Football Schedules If you know of any additions please post them here.
  15. Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
  16. So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
  17. Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
  18. Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
  19. Oh yeah I forgot about him the 3 games we got out of him.
  20. Eubanks and the boys will be ready.
  21. Just think it could be West, Alcoa, plus one more. Could doesn’t mean it will
  22. It’s a small town and they are in the same school system. People talk and can pull up records on their personal devices.
  23. Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result. Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
  24. That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
