orwildcatfan, peace bro....WE as former players are a brotherhood and family who only want the best for the program and players. I know I have made a few people mad but most former players, and supporters want the same thing. How do I know? They tell me the same thing.

You should be wearing a nice ring.

To answer your question: my pick is former player and coach Stanton Stephens. He deserves it. He has earned it. He been to the big show. He won't need a map to get there. He could get their with his eyes closed.

2priceless, you are so right. Bruce is an ego-maniac narsistical social-misfit. God Bless Father Ryan. I don't know what they did to deserve this.

Man oh man........I enjoy this thread. This is what CoachT is all about......controversy, conflict, unity, and compromise. You gotta love OR for providing us with such a complexity during the LONGGGGGG wait ahead of us for some football no matter where you stand on this issue.

Here's what's enjoyable...after all is said and done and the smoke clears the wildcats will continue their winning tradition!

No matter who the coach is.

orwildcatfan, we all respect everyones opinion on here but can't always agree. Ronnie has had a  run at putting up some points at Oak Ridge but has choked when it counted the most. I am almost bald from pulling my hair out watching Ron get delay of game  five yarders......Let's get a coach who can get a darn play called in time without hurting the teams chances.

Didn't he get in trouble for his heavy campaining pressuring players to get their parents to e-mail the AD and Super?........Promising assistant coaches jobs ect.

Look at his stats when he is at the helm at Jefferson...terrible.....freshman...terrible.....JV....terrible.ionk...ionk...ionk

Successful Head coaches are a different breed!

God bless the Wildcats.

orwildcatfan, you better listen to finalsay he knows what he is talking about Gray is not the answer. Oak Ridge is not a proving ground for coaches.Longevity as an assistant is not the measuring stick for an Oak Ridge head coach. Our program needs to be unified under a proven leader no matter who it is, not divided by those who are known to divide. There has to be a head coach out there that would jump at the chance to come to Oak Ridge and build on our great tradition, our people doing the search must not give in to pressure to hire someone quick and readily available just to get this done it must be a proven head coach with class and integrity. From the names on the list that the have been rumored to have been interviewed none seem acceptable to me.

OMG...didn't even consider that guy. He is definitely known for coming into a place with  loads of talent...From what I understand , didn't have the best situation where he is now. Didn't I hear something about having to have an escort to and from the field at games? Looks like he had to rely on his coaching this time.

No, coaching wasn`t the problem at WB. The problem was the WB was badly overrated and had the hardest schedule in the state. This time the grass wasn`t greener for Meadows.

catscratch if, like in the good 'ol days, I could give you points for your post, I would give you a record amount. Oink boy needs to move on too if he wants to be a head coach. I know he sends out his resume every time their is an opening. I think if Brucie's wife had not been a principal in the OR school system....you know. Stanton is the answer in my opinion.

Without a doubt Stevens is the answer.

So then who would be your pick then catscratch?

Priceless, Graham Clark, Gary Rankin(though I don't think we can afford Gary), and I would strongly consider Scott Meadows. Coach Gaddis would come in here and do a great job and really clean some problems out that need cleaning but we have so many folks in Oak Ridge who have never committed a sin or a wrong so those whom never need forgiveness do not know how to forgive. I think I might also contact the former Clinton Head coach Jimmy Gaylor who is at Maryville. I 've heard some really good things about the coach at Cookeville.

From the outside looking in, I think Stevens would be a great choice. The only problem is that he's happy where he is, or at least that is what one of his assistant coaches told me. I think he would do a great job there. Personally, I think if I was hiring anyone, and I'm not even sure he is in the running, I would try to steal Jim Gaylor from Maryville. He produced a state chamionship team at Clinton during his tenure, and hasn't done anything but great things at Marvyille. He's probably the most underrated asst coach out there. That is just my humble opinion. I also think that the head coach at Campbell County High School might be a good option. (sorry, can't remember his name) I don't think he will ever do anything great there because of the lack of talent, but they did get to the playoffs for the first time in history this past year. Who knows?
