MidTennFootball
Its a SCRIMMAGE! A SPRING scrimmage, which is even worst. Congrats for dominating a scrimmage(IN THE SPRING), oh wait you only won 1-0. You want a slap on the back for "shutting down" Shivy, take it. You know, you Oakland fans are really cocky to have a 14-20 record over the last 3 years with 1 playoff win. BTW, all last year you Oakland fans claimed that you`re poor record was because of having a very young team, you don`t get that EXCUSE this year. What none of your sophmores or juniors moved up? Is the failure rate that high at Oakland? 825644307 id love to see where you saw oakland fans using our youth as an excuse, we never did. You have to excuse Oakland fans for being a lil confident because we have a immensly talented sophmore and junior class that has looked very promising up to this point. The coach that the majority of that 14-20 record is now with you guys. Shiverdecker is a good back, but a great back wouldnt let all those things that you listed affect him, even in a scrimmage Edited April 12, 2005 by OaklandGrad
JC4life
Is this the 'same' running back that spent more time getting NEGATIVE yardage last year against R'dale's defense than he did getting ANY positive yardage at all. I 'suppose' he was healthy then and had a O-line that knew the plays by playoff time. They DID know the plays y'all were suppose to be running didn't they? 825644311 What the heck are u talking about? More importantly, who the heck are you talking about? Lost Old Dad
What the heck are u talking about? More importantly, who the heck are you talking about? 825644316 My screw up. Alz Himer strikes again! I was thinking about Franklin County and wrote about Jeff County. I am SORRY! Fair enough?
JC4life
id love to see where you saw oakland fans using our youth as an excuse, we never did. Getting all of that will take days, just read last year's posts about Oakland You have to excuse fans for being a lil confident because we have a immensly talented sophmore and junior class that has looked very promising up to this point. Confidence is one thing, being cocky and arrogant over what happened in a spring scrimmage is another. You would have thought Oakland had won the state championship or something. The coach that the majority of that 14-20 record is now with you guys. Geeeeeeeeee, thanks Shiverdecker is a good back, but a great back wouldnt let all those things that you listed affect him, even in a scrimmage A back is only as good as the line in front of him, btw have you ever had back problems? Up until this point I had a lot of respect for Oakland fans, at least the ones I met on coacht. Tonite has changed all that, maybe JPats was on to something after all. Not me.......and I will tell you one thing lil boy.....when we had Marty Euverard at OHS we didn't tear him to pieces, slice and dice his every move on the T likeyou have. Like your WHOLE town has. We supported him and cherished him. But wait......... You didn't make the playoffs either.........and last yr was the first time in YRS that we didn't go. HEATHHELTON
Back to the original topic...Shiverdecker is the best Junior back in the state. Gulmire is the only other one of the top returners i have watched play. Gulmire is great too, like JC4Life, i dont think that i can pick between the 2. If Gulmire has any edge, it is due to his experience in the big game.
OR nole
September 23, 2005 Oak Ridge at Jefferson County. I know Gulmire is great, finally get to see Shiverdecker. I hope Shiverdecker has some help. With the number of carries he had last year, he must have a big bulls-eye on his jersey. With Oak Ridge's diversity and number of weapons, you can't key on Gulmire. Croach
At this stage I would think that Guilmire should be an early favorite for Mr Football. I have heard nothing but excellent things about his ability. Agreed!
