For Division II, 6'3" sophomore Glory Johnson of Knoxville Webb deserves Miss Basketball. Glory has helped her team to a 21-5 record which includes wins over AAA William Blount with Georgia commitment Angela Puleo, a win over Walker Valley led by Alabama signee Alyson Butler and a win over Powell led by Alabama commitment Caitlin Hollifield. Webb won the prestigious Greene County Bank Ladies Classic this season. Glory was named MVP of that tournament. Glory has scored 1,015 points for her career. This season Glory has scored 482 points, 278 rebounds, 67 blocked shots, 71 steals and 32 assists. That averages to 18.5 pts/game, 10.7 rbs/game.

I have no idea what the Memphis area has to offer for Division II Miss Basketball candidates. I know Lausanne is 25-2 and they must have 1 great player?

From the Middle Tennessee area, I would think that Brentwood Academy junior Victoria Dunlap based on what I have heard in the past would be a nominee. Maybe someone else in Middle Tennessee has stepped up and had a good season like the Father Ryan girl mentioned earlier.

For AAA, I think Casha Foster from Cumberland County should be in the running. She has lead her team to being ranked as one of the top teams in the state. She scores points, has bunches of assists and steals, and is the second top rebounder on the team. She is a team player and has a great attitude. That is what Miss Basketball should be all about.

I cant believe no one has mentioned William Blount's Angela Puleo a junior that has committed to Georgia averages 25 pts 6 rebs 5 assist 3 steals a game from the guard postion. Keke is so much bigger that all of her opps. she is suppose to do all that scoring and rebounding and she plays in one of the weakest overall district in 3A. Keke is great but dont u expect someone that much stonger and bigger to dominate.

I like to Glory Johnson girl from Webb also she can play and will play big time college ball. A 6'3 post that and handle the rock.

Hey folks, It's really easy to pick these players for Miss basketball that play on some pretty good teams. The person chosen for Miss or Mr. Basketball should be more than that. For isnstance, no one can argue that Cait Mcmahan is a great player but look at her Heritage team. They keep right on winning without her. Angela Puelo goes down and her team knocks off Heritage without her. It's not that any of these players aren't as good as people say but it's a lot easier to be good when you are surrounded with other good players. Most of the names mentioned for miss basketball play on some darn good teams surrounded by really good talent. I'm not saying that players like Bianca Thomas, Brandi Brown, Kee Kee Stewart, and others aren't talented or deserving players but most if not all play on some talented teams. There are some trully talented and gifted players that aren't from notable programs. My choice is junior Dawn Evans from Clarksville-Northeast. She is the leader of a young inexperienced team that lost 4 starters and the sixth man from a team that went 33-5 a year ago and led them to a 22-7 record so far. She leads or is among the top 5 in almost every major statistical category as a point gaurd, 23.3 ppg, 7 assist pg, 3.5 steals pg, 4 reb pg, and 67 three pointers made/ 2.6 pg. Quite an accomplishment when everyone's game plan is to stop you. She has excelled against some of the best players in the country at Mike White's Adidas Showcase Tournament and The Adidas Top Ten All Amrican Camp. A well kept secret (except for the colleges) and a great player.

In AAA don't forget Casha Foster of Cumberland County. She plays with a lot of heart and has helped in Cumberland County's two awesome seasons a lot. I can also vouch for Jackie Pickel because we've played her too. She's great player that leads that team and does a great player. The other ones that I have been mentioned I've never seen play but these are definitely two that should be on the ballot.

JANA CROSS SHOULD BE A MISS BASKETBALL FINALIST. SHE HAS OVER

2000 CAREER POINTS AND WELL OVER 1000 REBOUNDS. SHE IS ONE OF THE MOST UNSELFISH PLAYERS YOU WILL EVER SEE. JANA IS A CLASS ACT ON THE

COURT AND OFF. SHE IS THE TOTAL BASKETBALL PACKAGE, REBOUNDING,

SCORING, ASSISTS,SHOT BLOCKING, PRESS BREAKING.

NO DOUBT ABOUT IT SHE IS AN AWESOME PLAYER
